Book Description

5 Jan 2006 Illmoor Chronicles
Groan Teethgrit and Gordo Goldeaxe have looted one village too many, and now the Lords of Illmoor are baying for their blood. Can Duke Modeset, exiled Lord of Dullitch, devise a plan clever enough to topple the duo AND Groan's equally reckless half-brother? Of course he can't, he's next to useless himself ...

... but he does have one secret weapon: an extremely beautiful princess who seems willing to do absolutely nothing for the good of her country.

Product Description

Review

' ... full of many layers of wacky humour and invention and some surefire, zany one liners.'

(Books for Keeps 20051101)

many comical elements and a touch of Mervyn Peake (Childrens bookseller 20040904)

David Lee Stone is a wonderfully mad new talent to watch. He has a truly original voice and you won't forget his hysterically hopeless (rather than heroic) characters in a hurry! (Wendy Cooling 20040804)

[The Yowler Fowl-up] is a zippy, highly efficient (20040804)

About the Author

David, until recently an employee of Blockbuster video, has been creating the world of Illmoor since he was ten years old. He works as a freelance writer for SFX magazine. He lives on the coast in Kent and has a baby German Shepherd called Cher.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Number 1 Fantasy Adventure! 15 Feb 2006
Format:Paperback
A fantastic fantasy book that keeps you hooked from the moment you read the front cover to the moment you finish the last sentence.
With great characters such as Groan Teethgrit,a huge, thick, muscular barbarian who thinks he can take anyone on,and his equally strong, tall brother,Gape Teethgrit, but his brother has long hair and is much more intelligent, and with them is Groans companion, they both follow a small dwarf Gordo Goldaxe.
The book partly focuses on there adventure to find items for a princess.why? Well you'll have to read the book to find that out.........

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic- The best book yet 12 July 2005
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
I have just finished reading the Shadwell Shananigans. I have to say it is without a doubt the best in the series yet. We see the return of groan and gordo who team up with Loogie a new and hilarious character (my favourite in this book I think). groan falls in love and drags gordo halfway across Illmoor in a quest to win his true love's hand....which in true Illmoor style leads to nothing but trouble. I couldn't put this one down, and I now can't wait for the fourth book. If you like comic fantasy or just funny books, or even adventure books, this one has it all. Just brilliant!!
