The law relating to sewers and drains is one of the most obscure subjects in the Statute Book. The purpose of this well established work, first published over 40 years ago, is to bring into focus the complexities of sanitary legislation and extract a set of harmonious principles. The eighth edition contains the necessary revisions resulting from the water consolidation legislation which followed the privatization of the water industry and is consequently of vital importance to the law of sewers and drains. The EC Waste Water Directive has been added, as have other recent statutes and case law, the whole being presented in a clear and practical manner. Attention is also drawn to additional points of practical difficulty.
