I wish I read this series sooner, I did not realised how much I actually loved these books.

The series follows our two main character Han Alister who is a thief in Fellsmarch and Raisa ana’Marianna, princess heir of the Fells. Two people from two different world eventually collide together and an epic fantasy begins.

There was so many reasons to why I loved this series so much. Firstly, the world building was fantastic, I became so immersed whenever I was reading her books. It felt so real, that I could actually picture all the things that was happening. I could actually feel myself being there, and not many books can do that.

The characters in these books were incredible. Raisa and Han, I felt so connected to these two, I really cared for them. I have cried over them, I have laughed with them, I had hope for them. I loved how Cindy used alternating view point between these two, getting inside their head, and feeling more attached to them. They go through such remarkable character development especially Raisa, who in the beginning was a slightly spoiled ignorance princess who had no idea of what was going on outside the Palace. However, toward the final book, she went through so much, and became this strong, wisdom, warrior, that I really admired. And also Han who went through from this lowlife street lord and a thief to a powerful ally to the throne.

The romance in this book was not disappointing at all. It was not rushed, and did not feel blunt. The relationship developed throughout the story and was done really well.

I loved the mystery and plot twist in these books. Especially how much the past influenced these characters. I also loved how Cindy combined the political aspect as well as the fantasy in the seven realms.

HASH(0x8d6086fc) out of 5 stars One of My Favorite Book Series 16 Jan. 2014

I'm 19, I've been reading this series since I was 17, and these books are some of my favorite. Chima is a wonderful author (her other books are great as well, I'd recommend them). This series really captivates those who love stories about magic and royal politics. The story is quite intriguing and very worth the read.

I'd also recommend reading the Ranger's Apprentice series, if you're looking for another great fantasy series.

HASH(0x8d608b7c) out of 5 stars Great for tweens and teens alike! 26 Mar. 2014

Ms Chima spins a very intriguing story of love, duty, magic, and politics. We bought these books for my (then) 13 year old son. Since purchasing them they have been read by him, our 12 year old daughter, and myself. Among the many praises I have for this series I would highlight the fact that they are easy to read, and very hard to put down.

HASH(0x8d608c48) out of 5 stars Just BUY this series--you'll LOVE it! 15 July 2015
By Writergirl - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Working my way through this series for a second time. Almost done with the last book. Still LOVE it! It's so hard to find a well-written book. This series is IT! It follows the story of Han Allister, a street lord with a rough background who loses everything when he takes a "flashpiece" from a wizard one day. The story is also about a princess of the Gray Wolf line, Raisa, who is trying to grow into a woman--and eventually a queen. Lots of excellent world-building here, many surprises and twists. I just love how it all ties together, all the characters' stories interweaving. Plenty of romance... maybe too much. But also smart dialogue and action. Other, similar books I've enjoyed are Grave Mercy, The False Prince, and the Throne of Glass series. *Caution there is some spicy romance. Nothing too serious, but maybe NOT for the 12 & under crowd. Brief lesbian reference of a minor side character, but nothing tasteless.

I really enjoyed reading these books. There is a lot of action that keeps you at the edge of your seat and you will love the characters. I found myself immersed in the books....a great escape from the real world. I had a hard time putting them down and I read the whole the series in under a week.
