Book Description

Sep 1993
Pros know that the real secret of surveillance lies in the skill of the operators, not in high-tech gadgets. This book is for the true practitioners of the craft. It focuses on tactics that can only be learned from stalking the streets and standing in the shadows.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the best. 6 Sep 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I've read this book about five times now. It is a joy to read and is full of useful diagrams. The book describes how to carry out surveillance on foot, by car and also on public transport. It does tend to assume that you have lots of people at your disposal, but you can still use the methods from this book if you're alone.
Surveillance equipment is covered briefly, as is night surveillance. The style is great, becasue it is easy to follow and very informative.
A must for any PI, spy or just anyone who like reading cool books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 15 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback
I really got on well with this book, its detailed enough to bring you up to speed with everything you need to know and not so intense that you have to have a couple of expresso's before even considering picking it up.

I'm fresh to the Surveillance thing so I can't say that I have a wealth of experience but I think this book will give me a running start should I look to proceed with it as a career.

All I would say is that the book gives no comparison between digital technology and the older models. Thanks

3.0 out of 5 stars Basic 21 Jan 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Basic concepts for surveillance. Adequate for non-professional use. Used with professional support is a fair book for self education. It's okay.
