As a hypnotherapist I have been using the structure and techniques in this book and showing my clients how to use those skills and I subsequently recommend that they invest this book. The specific technique demonstrated here is very easy for anyone to use and allows anyone to apply it.

Having applied much of the books content to myself as well, I have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to use self-hypnosis in this way. The settling techniques and accompanying explanations in this book are not found anywhere else in the many self-hypnosis books that I have read over the years. This alone made it worthwhile.

I got one of the recently revised copies too and it is very easy to read and as I have said, for me it has been very useful for a variety of reasons.

I got this book simply because my daughter bought it, raved about it and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Having only intended on "dipping my toe in" and casually reading a few pages I got drawn in and loved it. My husband and I have since spent lots of time in trances! This book is going to show you how to go into a trance, that is, how to get into a state of hypnosis. Then it gives a load of various ways to do things while in trance and use it for all the stuff that most people will buy the book for; stopping smoking, losing weight, all that kind of thing. I just found it interesting and a lot of fun even though I had no major issue to deal with. This is a great book; easy to read, easy to follow and not loaded with technical or academic terminology. I recommend it.

well worth getting 17 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback
this is one of those books that, on a first skim appears to be long on stories and short on detail, but read more thoroughly and the sum is more than its parts.

Follow along with Adam's advice about really learning about the hypnosis model(the three eyed alligator metaphor) and you eventually get to the stage where you can freely develop your own techniques and strategies.

This book gives you a good foundation from which to develop your own personal self hypnosis plan. best of all, its not riddled with any hocus pocus.
Hypnosis is as natural as being engrossed in a good movie or a wonderful piece of music.
