Product Description

Review

Fiona Millar's excellent and well researched book is a must read for every working mother and for all those who will be joining the ranks of female jugglers and plate spinners. It answers many questions, it offers many solutions and most importantly ... it offers validation and reassurance to us all that it is okay to drop some of the balls some of the time.
--Dr Tanya Byron, Clinical Psychologist, television presenter and columnist

My husband and me both work full-time, and I've been looking for encouragement and inspiration ever since my second daughter was born. Out of the many books and articles that I found, I liked this one the most. A calm and thorough analysis of how things actually are for working mothers; most importantly, it didn't induce this wave of frustration that sometimes comes after reading such publications: life is so unfair! I found the tone of the book comforting. It was also nice to read about so many other women who believe that having children should not put an end to professional development.

I was a little dissapointed by this book but I think I was looking for reassurance more than anything, about going back to work full time. Reassurance of the fact that my daughter will grow up just fine and that she will always know who her mum is.

Some interesting discussion and musing on other working mums but more in terms of practical advice would have been helpful.

Incidentaly I have since met many full time working mums with grown up kids who say they know you and love you just the same!!
