Product Description

Product Description

Author David De Angelis’s search for a cure for nearsightedness was both professional and personal, since he suffered from the disease himself. An expert in muscular work dynamics, he discovered through extensive testing and an immersion in decades of scientific studies that working the extrinsic ocular muscles could preserve sight and re-educate the eyes toward better vision. He came to understand the importance of retinal defocus for transforming ocular refractive status. In this book, the author shares both the science and the “secret”–progressive retinal defocus technique–of how he was able to reverse his own myopia. The system’s efficacy, he says, comes from the fact that it directly intervenes with the causes that generate myopia onset and development (overaccommodative/near-point stress). When adequately stimulated by the simple exercises presented in the book, ocular refractive capability leads to gradual strengthening of focusing capability and gradual decreasing of refractive error. Written in straightforward language, and featuring an extensive section on the scientific research in this field, The Secret of Perfect Vision offers a proven program of healing to the millions of people afflicted with this condition.

Excellent book 12 Dec 2008
Format:Paperback
I am so pleased that I discovered Mr Angelis' brilliant book "The Secret of Perfect Vision" in September 2008.

My vision at the time was -4.75 D in both eyes. I started doing the exercises straight away as best as I could, as I was willing to try anything to stop the gradual worsening of my vision.

To my surprise and pleasure, a recent eye test, only a few months later in December, has shown that my vision had improved to -4.0 (left eye) and -3.75 with 0.25 astigmatism (right eye).

Although this method takes patience and regular practice, I feel that it is completely worth it because my vision is now the best it's been in years. I intend to continue doing the exercises to improve my vision to the maximum that I can achieve.

All the best to those of you who are looking for ways to improve your vision. There are many excellent programs out there on natural vision therapy, but for me, this has been by far the most effective.

I am most grateful to Mr Angelis for writing this outstanding book, and warmly recommend it to everybody.

I came across this book from a recommendation in a forum. I have been short sighted since I was in my teens and I have worn glasses or contacts most of my adult life. I was a bit skeptical but I thought I would by the book and give it a try.

The author goes into some depth about the anatomy of the eye and the theory behind his method. His method comes down to a series exercises that can be done in a few minutes combined with training your eyes to focus over longer distances while reading. He recommends using long sighted glasses to train the eyes.

Six months ago I stopped using my glasses and started following the methods daily. When I started I could just make out words on the computer screen with my left eye from say 18 inches away. I needed about 9 inches distance to read with my right eye. Today I can read words on the screen from over 3 feet away with my left eye and from about 1 1/2 feet away from my right eye. I do not yet have perfect vision but I continue to follow the method and continue to make small but gradual progress. I should say that I did not use the long sighted glasses as recommended but tried to train my eyes to read at the limit of their range.

As someone who lifts weights his methodology made intuitive sense to me and I felt from the outset that it could work. The muscles in the body can be trained to lift much more than a person's bodyweight. Why can't the muscles of the eye be similarly trained?

It seems amazing to me that this method works but the information is not out there. I guess it comes down to the fact that the method is so simple - the exercises and training can be grasped in a few minutes - that it is hard to make money out of it and thus no incentive to market it. I would recommend anyone reading this to buy the book. What have you got to lose? The alternatives in contact lenses or laser surgery carry small but significant risks of infection or permanent impairment as well as being much more expensive.

I am very grateful to the author for writing this book. My only regret is that I did not come across this information many years ago.

I have found out about vision improvement methods a month ago from yahoo answers. This was something I was looking for ever since I turned nearsighted but I could never type the right keywords on google. As a result, I carried on wearing the prescribed lenses by my optician, which worsened my vision to what it is now, -4.50D, on both eyes.

At first, I purchased "Improve your vision without glasses or contact lenses" book. Unfortunately, this one lacked detail on the exercises and why the methods work. I looked for more books for a better strategy and I came across this book. At first I thought it was something similar to the other books, but the reviews from its customers stated that it was currently the best one out there for vision improvement (check out the US version of the book for more reviews).

I have read the book myself and am glad I found it. It looks like he's proved why myopia occurs using scienfific reasons and evidence. The best thing about this book is that axial myopia can be corrected using his methods. He's shown that the eye has the ability to adapt. Let's give an example. For years, if you do prolonged periods of close work, you get myopia, right? It gets worse, the more close work you do. The eye can even elongate, which results in axial myopia. This is evidence that the eye has the ability to adapt to its stimulus. He's using this principle to reverse this elongation. Elongated eyeballs can be shortened using retinal defocus training.

I would like to let you (the reader and the world) know that if you have myopia, you can clear it, regardless of how bad it is. Don't think that if you have axial myopia, you can't achieve 20/20 vision. You can, using the methods in this book. In a nutshell, the author's method is eye exercises with retinal defocus training (this is the main part). If you have high myopia e.g. above -3.00, you need to use weak glasses (undercorrection) depending on how high it is (for -3.00D eyes, -1.00 glasses is recommended). Use positive lenses when defocus
training for low myopia e.g. -1.00.

Please remember you have to be motivated to get improvements. I hope more people can discover this method and work their way to clear their distance vision completely. Please do not believe that elongated eyes can't be shortened. If you do, I am positive your opinion will change once you read the book.
