I bought this for the kids but decided to read it myself, and was pleased I did. A fantastical journey through time and across continents with a faerie like, m'thical quality but not fey. Exciting villains, humorous and touching adventures with the flying camel, and themes of family, loss and redemption that stops it being too simplistic. At the same time, I think my primary school children would enjoy the story on a different level and I would not hesitate in reading it to them. There's nothing to offend them, but enough to keep me interested, and it's a very visual book I can imagine being a good film.
