I am a keen Macintosh user, and believe that the computer I have on my desk is the best there is. My interest in the personalities behind Apple came from watching the Movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley", which led me to read the book "Fire in the Valley", on which the movie was based. I then read "Apple Confidential", an account of the history of Apple Computer, Inc. The Second Coming of Steve Jobs does as much as any book could do to help one understand a very complex and contradictory man. He is an innovator and a genius, but he is also infantile and selfish. I don't know if I would like to work with him, but I love the products he turns out.
Overall, this is a fascinating account on the life of Mr Jobs between leaving Apple in 1985 and his victorious, and controvertial return, in 1996. You learn much about his relationships with employees, his NeXT and Pixar intrests and their sucesses and infamous failures. Bill Gates even gets a look in, leaving unsulting messages on Steve's answering machine, slagging-off his Macintosh.

I am a keen Apple Products user and have only been a convert recently. This book is very different from Inside Steve's brain, which flatters Steve and also springs his ideas out to the masses.
This book depicts the genius, vision of Steve Jobs, also it reveals that not everything that happened was meticulously planned. Apple is at its reams of success but it wouldnt have been if IBM bought next, and Pixar wont have happened if Steve wasnt ousted from Apple.
Steve made a brilliant comeback, his charismatic, eccentric, sometimes downright rude and humiliating character made him the man behind the vision. His quirky habits, his passions for gadgets lead the way. Though reading through this week, many times i felt that the author didnt really like Steve at all, but begrudgingly admits that Steve had the ' x factor'.
it reveals multiple facades of Steve, it makes us realise he was human. and come on, if i had billions of dollars, i'd build a helipad too! If i had billions of dollars, i too would have a palate for the finer things in life..
what i cannot understand is, from a man who lived in a house with minimal furniture, black and white themed, a 100,000 dollar stereo speaker, and persion rug, who's only thing in common with the masses is his pair of blue jeans, what makes him o create the IMac in the fruity flavoured colors ? it wouldnt even go with the theme of his elitist home. How does someone who is so NOT part of the masses understand what the masses would want?
Its a great read. For those die hard Steve fans who think he's God or maybe Michealangelo, it you cannot bear the thought of Steve being criticised , dont read it. Though, even after reading it all, and knowing that Steve Jobs ultimately is a flawed character who can be rude and mean and nasty , it's completely overshadowed by his passion, motivation, love , vision, perfectionism, drive which is still awe inspiring to me. He is a complex character, who ultimately changed the world.

Can't remember reading a book as fast as this before! A well told story about a man who does seem to be a bit of a genius/lunatic combination. Nice to read the story about Pixar as well. Buy it now and enjoy!

Steve is God
Steve Jobs, no matter what you think of him, this man knows what we want before we do.
I read this book every spare moment I had, for any any Macintosh user/lover this is must.
