5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful read - and so inexpensive! 10 Jun 2014

If you like Sherlock Holmes you will almost certainly enjoy these stories - both full length and short. Freeman is forgotten these days, compared with Doyle, but goodness knows why, as his plots are well drawn as are his chracaters. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars In the Past 3 Jun 2014

It is a fascinating collection of stories in the past. Obviously influenced by Sherlock Holmes but without making Thorndyke's associates seem idiots. It is less frantic than today's detective novels and this makes it relaxing to read. The clues are there, without obvious red herrings. There are a few typos that might irritate some people but then the price is right.

I have been a fan of Freeman and Thorndyke for years. It is perfect to have most (and soon, I hope, all) the Thorndyke saga on Kindle.
