About the Author
Gareth Thompson returned to his native Cumbria after a career in music journalism. Inspired by the dramatic landscapes around him he began writing fiction. His three critically acclaimed novels for young adults, The Great Harlequin Grim, Sunshine for the Sunless and The Anarchist's Angel are published by Random House and explore the hidden landscapes of Lancashire and Cumbria. The Sea Swallow is his first book for younger readers.
Hannah Megee studied fine art at university and went on to study authorial illustration as a postgraduate. Hannah won the commission to illustrate The Sea Swallow in a nationwide competition just weeks after finishing her course. Growing up by the sea, coastal imagery has always inspired her creativity, with her illustrations capturing themes of magic, mythology and nature.
