DVD Description

Angelo only lives for Thai boxing. Unjustly excluded from the championship, he accidentally kills his challenger in a street fight. When he’s released from prison six years later, he’s a wreck. But, for love, he accepts to participate in illegal Free Fights. He’ll change, become someone else, a machine that pounds and gets punched, a machine that wins. He'll become Scorpion.

From the Back Cover

Brutal and ultra realistic, this is the story of kickboxer Angelo who is loses his chance of a title shot thanks to his short fuse. With nothing left to lose Angelo hits the underground free fighting circuit, a chance for him to change and become someone else, something else, he will become The Scorpion.

Featuring uncompromising fighting and stunt work from the team behind The Transporter, Scorpion is the definitive mixed martial arts movie.

If you are a fan of MMA or UFC or any martial arts, this movie shows a couple of really good tactical fights you won't see Hollywood doing. Some of the ground work and wrestling is spot on (anyone know another movie with groundwork or wrestling?) and there are take downs & holds that look incredibly realistic. The acting is what you would expect from a martial arts movie, and as usual the bad guys are over the top, but as far as the fight scenes go - they rank similarly with Ong Bak/Fighter In The Wind/3 the hard way. Worth watching...

If you are a UFC fan, a boxing fan, a WWE fan or even just a fan of action movies...SCORPION is for you!

It is like the definitive mixed martial arts film, really violent film but the martial arts never lose thier majesty, it is like Fight Club really just with more disciplined fighters!

I really reccomend this fight film, I would say I enjoyed it as much if not more than TRANSPORTER, FIGHT CLUB, ONG-BAK etc.

A rare gem of a fight film!

It was all looking good until the last 20 minutes when every cliche under the sun was used. The fight scenes are brutal but not amazing apart from the final fight which ends abruptly. Cornilliac is quite good as the main character as he goes through many changes in the 90 mins. Within the first 5 mins of the film i found his character quite repulsive as an angry, temperamental bully. After a spell in prison he becomes a socially akward drunk before becoming an animal with a heart. With many French films, there are always huge holes in the plotline. Why would a sleazy club boss with an interest in illegal, underground fights want a hack journalist writing a piece about him? The ending does however have a sting in the tail (sorry, couldn't resist). Watchable but nothing special.
