Amazon.co.uk Review

The Science of the Mind was originally published in 1926 by the founder of the world-wide Religious Science movement. Using creative techniques and easy-to-follow guidance, Holmes takes the student step by step toward mastering the powers of the mind to find purpose in life. His explanations of how to pray and meditate, heal oneself spiritually, find self confidence and express love have helped millions change their lives for the better. The Science of Mind is one of those great spiritual classics that belongs on the bookshelf of anyone who wishes a life for themselves free of compulsion and negativity. --P. Randall Cohan --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

Here is the complete first edition of The Science of Mind. For the careful practitioner this is the preferred edition, as later editions lacked the power and focus of this edition and were simply less readable. Here you will find six lessons and countless affirmations that will help you unlock the power of your mind and find higher truths. You won¿t find a guide to the science of the mind that is clearer and easier to use. With the power of right thinking you will find that a new, better world awaits you! Earnest Shurtleff Holmes was the founder of the Church of Religious Science. Religious Science, like many New Thought faiths, emphasizes positive thinking, influence of circumstances through mental processes, recognition of a creative energy source and of natural law. Holmes had an immense influence on New Age beliefs, particularly his core philosophy that we create our own reality.

If you could distill all the books & teachings of (genuine) metaphysics, spirituality, various gurus/teachers from around the world and hold it in your hands, this would be the book you would be holding, IMHO. It is a star of a book within the firmament of the human quest to understand ourselves and this wonderful world. It offers the seeker a simple, direct and clear light, to guide, to expore and to attain.

A very interesting book, which opens your mind to the concept that we are more than the mind. And that our thoughts actually do shape our reality in this world. If you like 'The Secret' then you will find this extremely interesting.

Few people have done more to promote metaphysical christianity than the much revered Ernest Holmes.

In this book, he sets out the foundations of the metaphysical interpretation of christianity and spirituality in general and the implications this philosophically sound foundation has for our lives.

Holmes differs wildly from the modern decaffeinated 'positive thinking' self-help gurus in that he stresses the link between thoughts and thinking and Spirit as the Universal Mind that is the origin of all that exists. This is where popular contemporary works like 'The Secret' sorely miss the point. As Holmes emphasizes, Jesus is the first and best example of the use of 'the science of Mind' and sets forth the possibilities open to all of us if we live in agreement with Divine Mind. A true spiritual classic.
