Comment: ** Please note this is a 1994 reprint and has a slightly different cover to the one shown. A very good book with clean pages and a very good text block. Cover is very good with minor wear to corners, edges and spine and has had a protected film put on it. A penned name is on inside front leaf. There is a crease in the protected film near top front edge.

I'm a graduate who decided to retrain as a conservator. All of my experience is within design, so I have never really done any science since school. I did study Chemistry at A Level and did so badly in my exams that my grade was Unclassified. So I'm sure you will appreciate, science is not my speciality.

This book however, is fantastic. Science is explained in terms of how it applies to conservation practice, rather than just the theory. I think this makes it much easier to understand. I've read all three of these books now and I have found them to be really useful. My understanding of Science (Chemistry in particular) has greatly improved which has supported me a lot within my studies.

I really can't recommend this book enough to other conservation students.

Reference Guide for Art Conservation. 29 Nov. 2010
By Jan - Published on
Format: Paperback
The 3 books in this Series should be read together to coincide with art conservation. This is written for a Conservator who is trained in this field as it is quite technical. However, it could be utilized as a guide for understanding the genre of art conservation; as its authors, represent Museums abroad. .

It is an excellent, and outstanding Reference Guide (as are all 3), in the Series.
