Product Description

Sophie King's much loved bestseller is published in a brand new ebook edition. Now a #1 bestseller in ebook format. Chosen as one of Chick Lit Central's favourite novels of 2012.

Meet Harriet, Pippa, Evie, Nick, Kitty and Martine as they battle the daily school run. Share their ups and downs during one life-changing week, as they face relationship dilemmas, family dramas, secrets and lies...all leading to surprise events which cause their lives to collide.

'There is a lot for women to relate to here.' Katie Fforde

Harriet doesn't know whether she'll still have a marriage by the end of the week. But as she waits for her husband's decision about their relationship, does Harriet have more choices of her own than she realised?

Pippa is waiting too - for the results of medical tests that could bring devastating news about her health and future. But could it be Pippa's own actions that threaten all she holds dear?

Evie is struggling with her high-pressure job on a magazine and dealing with two step-daughters who hate her. But when her husband disappears can she rise to her biggest challenge yet?

Widower Nick worries about his teenage daughter, Julie, as they approach the anniversary of her mother's death. Can Nick keep his guilty secret about how she died?

School teacher Kitty needs a man. At least that's what her friend Mandy tells her. Can she win Mandy's bet to find one by the end of the week?

Martine is unhappy as the au pair for a famous TV couple. Will she find her escape with a married man?

Meanwhile, Betty watches on, determined to find the hit and run driver who killed her young son...

Seven people living different lives, but their paths are destined to cross in ways they could never have imagined.

New for spring 2013 - now with more bonus material - four extra short stories (six in total), and a sneak peek at the first 10 chapters of both Falling in Love Again (previously published as Divorce for Beginners) and Love is a Secret (previously published as Mums@Home).

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read 13 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Usually, I only read detective fiction, so this was a complete change for me. What Sophie King does best, is to create believable characters that you actually grow to care about. This makes very enjoyable reading and had me reading into the wee hours. Get this if you want to enjoy a lighthearted book with the 'Hey, that's me!' factor.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable! 29 Oct 2012

This book came up as one of my recommendations so I thought I would give it a go, and I did enjoy it, a very easy read.

I liked most of the characters although some were nicer than others, could not warm to "Martine" at all.

I agree with another reviewer, the only bit that niggled me slightly was remembering which children went with which parent, and sometimes when names weren't mentioned I had to think back to which plot it was referring to.

Also at the end I had no idea who Maurice and Hugo were either.

As I said, easy read and would read another one of Sophie's books again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 20 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was another, inexpensive, great read from my recommendations.
I love stories like this where the author draws you in by writing just enough about one character to get you hooked and then moving on to the next, cleverly intertwining the stories of each different character, and before I knew it I was halfway through the book.
The only bit which took concentration was the linking sections which did not refer to any of the main characters by name and I had to think which children belonged to which character and which sub plot referred to which character.
The two short stories at the end were a lovely bonus and I shall now read "Tales from the Heart" the e book from which they were taken.......at 79p another bargain.
I was sorry to find that Sophie Kings earlier novels are not yet available in Kindle format, but delighted to find that she also writes under the name of Janey Fraser as "The Playgroup" has been on my wish list for some time.
