Product Description

Product Description

John Thomas Rourke, M.D., ex-CIA covert operations Officer, weapons expert, and survival authority on the move again—searching for a cache of eighty megaton warhead missiles secreted on the New West Coast.

It begins with a firefight between Brigands and a unit of U.S. II armed forces, a battle that ends with Rourke, and a seriously wounded Natalia, taking refuge on a submarine.

The sight of the sunken remains of San Francisco is a grisly reminder of the Night of the War; the horde of half-dressed savages waiting on the shore, a deadly example of the madness of this brutal post-holocaust world.

Surrounded now by murderous madmen and threatened by a mysterious officer who has been travelling with him, Rourke must call on all his training to escape and continue the search for his family. He must go on—he is THE SURVIVALIST.

1.0 out of 5 stars Value 30 Mar 2014

Just can't figure out how you can justify the expense of your books on this series. The editing is poorly done, which wouldn't be an issue if the cost was moderate, the constant gun battles, easily 15% to 20%, (which I don't read every word of as they are so similar), along with the fact that any one of the books can be read in a few hours, feels to me like you are FAR more concerned with getting rich than you are telling the story. I actually feel taken advantage of by the author. And considering I read 3 -7 books a week, have for many years, I think that says something. I would certainly have enjoyed the series MUCH more if it hadn't cost me more than $200 and editing as I go, to do so. Shame on you, bestselling authors, whose books are finely edited and take days to complete don't charge what you do.
1.0 out of 5 stars Misspelled words 27 Mar 2014

Misspelled words for almost 10 bucks the old versions are better. Gives me the impression that it was scanned and never proofed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the time 25 Nov 2013

This book is typical of the first nine or ten books in this series that were actually written by Jerry Ahern. Heavy on the descriptions of the firearms and equipment.
