After reading the first book in the Savage Series I eagerly dove into this book with speed and a lust for the continuation of the story that Clara had started, the journey she had begun. Set a year in the future from the ending of the first book she ventures towards finding her mother in Cape Cod. If I thought the first book was a wonder of surprising twists and turns then it pales in comparison to the rabbit hole of wonderland adventures in store for you. I cannot begin to give you tit bits of tantalizing info without giving away too much but suffice to say,Tamara has out done herself with this sequel and although I was very surprised by the end of the book by the outcome each surprise fitted the situations perfectly allowing you to understand more about Clara's past and also each current situation. I cheered with them, wept with them, angered with them and became happy with them falling into their world is easy, coming back to ours and reality is hard!
Cannot wait to read book 3!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very dissapointing 25 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really enjoyed the first book, however this one seemed to go downhill fast. Book is very repetitive in places, girl is kidnapped then rescued, kidnapped again by someone else then rescued again, then its her friends turn to be kidnapped.the women all cry and wait to be rescued and are constantly reffered to as "the females" which is grating.
Author has made some attempt at constructing a love triangle plot which is unsuccesfull. New men are constantly added and removed from the scenario making the main character seem manipulative and less endearing as the book goes on. We are constantly being told how wonderful the main character is by the author yet she has been unable to write her in such a way that you are able to agree to this.
There is no character development present at all.
By the middle of the book I had all but decided not to waste my money on the next installment, which is a shame because the author has a few interesting ideas within the story which could have been worthwhile if she had developed them a little more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh Guardian.. I love this book. 20 Nov 2011
By C. Read - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've had a countdown in my mind until this book was released.
You see, after I had read the first book, The Pearl Savage, I became obsessed with MATTHEW, and this series.....

To quote my favorite Band Brother:
"Tell me you do not feel as I do and I will leave you and you may be with another"
Are you still doubting me?!?

Oh yes, Tamara goes there! I was sucked back into my favorite dystopian series once again....

Hardly any time passes between these two novels. In Blood Savage, Clara, along with The Band are traveling to the sea to hopefully find out what exactly Clara is, and if they can find her real mother.

But their long journey not as smooth as they hope. Along the way many people die, battles are frequent. They are more alert than ever to get to the sea.

I have to say when they do arrive to their destination, that it's my favorite part! I loved the new characters introduced into the series.

Rowenna: She may be a woman but she's a complete warrior! Nothing brings her down, and she holds her own 100%. I knew that any scene involving her would be a good one.

Maddoc: (loving the name) As part of The Band, you know he's protective, humungous, and gorgeous. Yep, he's a character that I enjoyed!
I enjoyed these characters because Tamara gives you glimpse into their world but not so much were you start to become so bored that you're wondering when you'll get back to the MC's.

But enough about the newbies....

The Band. Two simple words, yet, oh Dear Lord.
Every single one of these males are intense, and so protective. The equation makes for some of the most amazing males characters ever!
Tamara keeps their personalities believable. Meaning, I've read books that have serious or bad-ass boys and yet something doesn't "Click", by a certain action or words. I get the wussy vibe and it ruins it for me.
I'm not even sure that the males of The Band know what wussy means.
Completely. Alpha-Male.

Oh, now we can talk about my most favorite part of the book?
Matthew, Clara.... Clara,,no Clara and Matthew....

No, I didn't just play "He loves me, he loves me not." I'm just having a complete meltdown over who to pick.

Either one of these guys could look at her, and your computer is liable to short circuit. But for me, I'm all about Matthew. Everyone will decide on who is their favorite.
But it I have to say it's hard to pick a "Favorite" And there are so many twist and changes in the "Romance department". At one point, I pulled away from my computer and mumbled, "Holy Crap..."

There are more characters romantically involved that I didn't forsee. I love each one of these relationships!!

Blood Savage was an amazing second book that does NOT disappoint!

If you enjoy novels that have an amazing plot, insanely gorgeous Alpha-Males, and a love triangle that is angled toward Mature YA, then you'll eat this book up.
But.. why are you still reading this?
Just purchase the book!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Definitely not what I hoped for... 5 April 2012

I give three stars to this book mainly because

1) It had a fast pacing so I wasn't necessarily bored and was a fast read
2) I love the plot and how original it is .. I have hopes the 3rd book will get better and this is why I put up 3 stars
2) BUT, there were so many things that DID bother me!

What bothered me deeply was the lack of depth of the book. In comparison to the first book, this one hardly had any depth at all but focused on Clara's inability to choose for herself. The first book felt more real which this book definitely lost and instead was as predictable and vapid as any other teen romance. I like to read something that is a bit more realistic. I understand the point of Clara is to be a super-female that attracts men like moths to light. At the same time, I found it a bit ridiculous that she had more than 2 (at most 4) men hanging over her at any time in the novel, and yet she couldn't make up her mind on who to choose. It was so obvious how much she loves Matthew, and yet she won't choose! Another annoying fact was the more common occurrence of Clara jumping between two males as they fought over her (the attacker was usually Matthew). I don't know how many times this happened, but by the fourth time I was just tired of multiple love interests. It just became incredibly predictable and obvious, which isn't something I like to see when halfway through the book.

If you have a hard time reading books that leave you raging at the female character and the main male character, or you get bored with predictable books .. this may not be the book for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rinse and Repeat 21 Jan 2012
By Economrs. - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I REALLY liked the first book in this series, so I immediately devoured the second book. But about halfway through I realized that this book has a formula and even the great characters and interesting world can't completely make up for the storyline. It felt like I was stuck in a cycle of attempted rape, two men fighting over a woman, throw in additional suitor, then repeat with different characters, second verse. And third verse. And fourth verse. By the end of the story I was really sick of it.

Will I read the next book? Definitely. I love this author's writing style and she has created a fascinating world. I am also planning on picking up other books of hers. But is this as good as the first book? Definitely not.

I purchased this book after getting the first in the series for free. However, it was pretty much the same story, just different location. After reading this book, I had no desire to finish the series. Disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Sequel! :) 29 Dec 2011

Despite the fact that the first book was great, The Savage Blood was AMAZING. There are so many great guys falling for Clara. Personally, I would hate to be in her position! So much stress and pressure, she needs to follow her heart. A lot of pieces were put together, but the puzzle is definitely not finished yet. Such a cliff-hangar! This book leaves you biting your lip wanting to know how the war between good and bad ends, and what the Travelers expect from Clara. I can't wait for the next book!! :D
