one of the better 1960`s sci-fi movie`s,but the book is set in uk,just forget about that,very hard to get a top copy of this film,only private seller dvd-r copies are any good,the latest mgm ltd edition has had bad report`s from the usa,so either wait till on tv again or see what you can find on internet,great afternoon entertainment and one of just a few sci-fi flicks anybody can watch,even if not into that type of film.More a thriller than anything else,only down side is in one scene they cannot find the baddies,then they have them,makes you think part of movie missing,but apart from that good action and great looking location`s,just try for the best copy you can find.

The Satan Bug is an excellent thriller. It has no pretensions to be a blockbuster. Instead it's good, solid entertainment with a beginning, middle and end. The pretence is carried off with aplomb and the period feel is well done. If you need some no nonsense, lazy day entertainment having a few beers and chilling out this movie is for you. It doesn't insult your intelligence, doesn't hang about and keeps you rivetted. All we need now is to have it on DVD. Some extras would be nice but a good quality print would be fine.

If you like films like Capricorn One, The Andromeda Strain and so on, you'll love this one. Filmed in the mid 60's and set in rural areas of the American desert, it's about a seemingly mad scientist who steals a biological weapon (a flask of fluid) that could kill everything on the planet. It's not really sci-fi in it's delivery and the whole film is structured around the chase for this one guy and his side-kick. It could easily have been written by Michael Crichton and the "look" of the film is that typical 60's feel, with big cars, rough roads and an aspiring cast.

Great!!
The Satan Bug is a super 1960's spy thriller. Set in the desert - this film has a good story, good acting and super sets.
