I absolutley loved this fascinating TV Series from the 1970s. It's wonderful being able to watch each episode over and over again - as I always find some pertinent point that I missed before. The stories are intriguing and - apparently - very close to the truth. The writer died in rather mysterious circumstances..........
Roy Marsden is extremely well cast as the cold, emotionless, but steely determined Director of The Sandbaggers - a small elite department of the British Secret Service.
I cannot recommend this series highly enough - I never get tired of watching it - I'm devastated that there were no more, due to the untimely demise of the author.

Amazon Verified Purchase
This series is absolutely great, better even than that other ITV great of the 70's The Sweeney and that really is saying something. This programme was a 1978 to 1980 production and provides great footage of the vehicles, fashion and streets of the day.
Consider buying this product as an investment to see how things did really happen (and perhaps still do)within the UK intelligence community.
This is the real deal and great to watch, highly recommended.
A couple of the later episodes near the end of it's 3 year run (1978 to 1980) seem watered down and do not reflect the general tone of the series, perhaps someone had a word with ITV that their series was a little too close to mark.
Nevertheless Enjoy!!!

My husband wanted this set, I wasn't too sure, well I was wrong, as soon as we'd watched one episode we couldn't wait to watch the next, ok so not gripping and rather old fashioned, it takes you back, no mobile phones, no computers, smoking in the office and the pub, the old vehicles knocking about, all in all we want to watch the whole series all over again having just watched the last episode a week ago! Great purchase!
