I thoroughly enjoyed reading Sand Dancers. It brought back memories of the adventure stories I read as a child and I would recommend it to schools to add to their libraries. It captured my imagination as I was immediately curious to know what had happened to Cassandra Marramgrass's (the main character) mother, Marina Marramgrass 'the finest prima dune dancer ever'. The characters were given depth and were quite spirited as they were taught, under the tutelage of Madame Rosa at the Sandringham Dance School, to become great sand dancers. I finished the book wishing that I had the sequel to hand, ready to continue with Cassie's adventures.
