Sharma has basically tried to pull off what might have been a very neat trick; a 'self-help' manual written in the form of a novel. I'll not mention The Celestine Prophecy here, since that was almost a quasi-religious story. But whoops, I just did.
Since I mentioned religion, I should make a confession. I didn't finish this book. I found the themes and concepts so patronising and the narrative so cheesy that I could bear it no longer. Everything that happened in the book was a device to illustrate some point or other that was being made, so it quickly became very flimsy and see-through.
The dialogue was even worse, like when 'The Saint' hands our hero some chocolate, which he eats, then exclaims 'It's bitter-sweet!' to which the Saint replies 'That's right. Just like life.'
I recommend you go on your own journey of self-discovery, rather than reading this contrived tale.

The best yet 30 April 2009
Format:Paperback
The picture of the author on the front cover of this book ,truly says it all. This man lives his stories. He exudes warmth compassion and a love of mankind. And so it is with this book. The story gently leads the reader through lessons of wisdom that everyone would do well to learn. Sadly we don't all have friends such as a Saintly monk, a surfer and the CEO. But again a book filled with wisdom's to live by, encapsulated in a most engaging story. I could not put the book down till I got to the end. Well worth the money and in my opinion , his best book yet.

THis book has the wow factor. WOW, it is so simple to take hold of your life and be happy in yourself. Whether Robin Sharma has collected wisdom from many sources is not the point of this book, it is that he has written a powerful and practical account of how to change your life now. I will be gifting this book to family and friends. It also introduces the reader to many great philosophers to continue the learning.
