FEATURING AN EXCLUSIVE EXTRACT OF SCOTT MARIANI’S NEW NOVEL, THE ARMADA LEGACY

In the seventh bestselling Ben Hope conspiracy thriller, the action shoots back in time to the days of Jesus Christ – and a buried secret that has staggering implications for the world as we know it…

Returning to the UK to try to sort out his stormy personal life, Ben runs into two old friends. Simeon and Michaela were once his fellow students at Oxford – now they are The Reverend and Mrs Arundel.

Ben senses that Simeon is deeply troubled and frightened, but before the truth can emerge about his secretive research project concerning a mysterious, ancient ‘sacred sword’, both he and Michaela are wiped out in a devastating road crash. Convinced that his friends’ deaths were no accident, Ben is propelled on a global quest from the UK to France, the Holy Land and America to unlock the enigma of the sacred sword. At every step, he is pursued by ruthless agents of the sinister organisation that will stop at nothing to acquire it.

In the course of his investigations, Ben will discover an incredible secret, not just about the history of Christianity but about his own past . . .

More About the Author

Scott Mariani is the author of the worldwide-acclaimed action-adventure thriller series featuring ex-SAS hero Ben Hope, which has sold over a million copies in Scott's native UK alone and is also translated into over 20 languages. His books have been described as 'James Bond meets Jason Bourne, with a historical twist'. The first Ben Hope book, THE ALCHEMIST'S SECRET, spent six straight weeks at #1 on Amazon's Kindle chart, and all the others have been Sunday Times bestsellers.

Scott was born in Scotland, studied in Oxford and now lives and writes in a remote setting in rural west Wales. When not writing, he can be found bouncing about the country lanes in an ancient Land Rover, wild camping in the Brecon Beacons or engrossed in his hobbies of astronomy, photography and target shooting (no dead animals involved!).

In addition to writing thrillers, he's also an avid fan of horror, and his most recent publication, available exclusively on Amazon, is HOUSE OF MALICE, a shocking and terrifying novella based partly on some of Scott's own personal experiences as a paranormal investigator. You can find out more about Scott and his work on his official website, www.scottmariani.com.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pool side action 24 May 2012
By Parm TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Review:
I came late to the Ben Hope party, there are just so many fun action packed writers in the action thriller genre, and its not easy sorting all the Dan Brown bilge from the truly excellent thrillers. It took a quote from Andy McDermott to make me go buy a copy.
And now in a very short space of time I have powered through 7 novels and a short story, each book getting better in style , plotting and pace. Add to that my amazement at Scott and authors like him capacity for imagining so many bizarre scenarios linked to the past.
As usual I give no spoilers. Suffice to say our hero is still real, still a flawed man (I hate perfect story book heroes) and Scott kept me the reader hanging on for every page and rushing towards the end, and yet when I arrived at the thrilling end...gutted that it was over.
Has it been done before, yes probably, has it been done this well? probably not.

Have to say although this contains an extract of the armada legacy I didn't read it, I cant read teasers its just not enough. But for those that like that sort of thing it's a great idea and a little bit more for your money.
A perfect book for the summer holiday pool side relax.

Scott's books just get better every time. This was an incredible read and now it's back to waiting for the next. Having also read all of Chris Kuzneski's "Payne & Jones" books, it's going to be a drag of a Summer. Hurry up with the next guys! A joint collaboration - Ben Hope works with Payne and Jones - epic cinema potential?

5.0 out of 5 stars Another awesome book! 12 Nov 2012

I really cannot fault Scott Mariani and his Ben Hope series. I know there are many books out there along the same lines but these, and in particular The Sacred Sword are superb reads. I like how history is intwined with the story and I like Ben's flawed character. Whilst I found the violence was a bit more than usual in Scott's novels, I thought it fitted in with the story.
I found that this book was fast paced and I couldn't put it down which is the only downside! I am very much looking forward to the next book :)

5.0 out of 5 stars He's done it again! 29 May 2012

Another can't-put-it-down-til-its-finished read from the wonderful Scott Mariani!

A fast paced, action packed thriller with enough twists and turns to keep you gripped - and thats not just Ben's driving skills I'm talking about!

There is a lot of bloodshed and some horrific scenarios - you have been warned!

The tale takes you on a whirlwind tour of the globe, adds intrigue to some long standing beliefs, with a history lesson or two thrown in for good measure. You will not be disappointed, but I would still recommend that anyone considering reading The Sacred Sword should read the previous books first!

A worthy addition to the Ben Hope library!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Gripping Story. 3 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ben has had a hard year, and is hoping for a rest as his business has wound up for the Christmas season.
On route to the UK to do 2 slightly unpleasant personal jobs, he has thoughts of a better year ahead of him as he pass by the White Cliffs of Dover.
Unknown to him things around him are spinning out of control, with a friend in needed thrown a desperate hand out for help.
Once again the History and facts are seamless, in the way they have been bent to create this story. Could this be true is always a question you ask after reading these books.
Scott Mariani is a master of his craft, any of his books are a good read.

THE SACRED SWORD - Scott Mariani Kindle Edition

I originally bought my first books by this author as disposable paperbacks to read whilst on holiday and leave on the hotel bookshelf for other visitors to enjoy. In fact they were so entertaining that I have now added them to my Kindle collection to keep and revisit.

This is the seventh Ben Hope story and is as good as his previous offerings which consistantly first class light action reading. There is plenty of action, with believable characters, and a equally believable and gripping plot which has already been outlined by other reviewers so I shall not repeat those descriptions, except to say that I personally thought that this was one of the better storylines of the series. In short this is good entertaining reading which I shall keep on my holiday books list and would strongly recommend Mr Mariani to other addicts of the genre.

The Kindle Edition: Professionally produced e-book with active index. 5/5
