5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful deck 17 Dec 2000
Format:Paperback
As soon as I touched the box after opening the outer Amazon packing I felt the cards talking to me, I picked them up and now I can't put them down, I have many decks and this is one of my favourites, the cards are beautifully done, the images easy to understand and the link to the Tarot from the Celtic tarot is also easy to understand, as for the book that is brilliantly done, with the Fool's journey being described at the end of each card, what he has learned etc. A must have deck for anyone, I showed this deck to a friend of mine who does professional tarot readings and she was over the moon with it, in fact she was so over the moon her sister asked me to order one for her for her birthday, the cards are powerful and I am looking forward to doing readings with them. What you say? You have done no readings with them? At this moment in time I am reading through the book to line my thoughts up with the Celtic and Tarot meanings as some of the cards are slightly different, but still a beautiful and powerful deck to have and own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Stunning 4 Dec 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I bought a set of these cards for my sister after beind drawn to their images online. I showed the box (unopened of course) to a friend who was equally stunned by them. We both then ordered a set for each other! I felt instantly connected with the cards. The images are stunning in their relevance and detail to traditional pagan images and their connection with the elements. Anna Franklin & Paul Mason deserve many congratulations for their dedication in producing a deck to this high standard. The cards themselves are suitable for beginners with their key words and also for more experienced readers with their attention to detail in each image. What more can I say?

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have deck and book for the serious reader 17 Dec 1998
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I love this sumptuous photographic deck. I intend to use it in my own personal meditations over the next several months. I like to pick a card a day as a daily guidance tool, so a new deck typically takes about 2 1/2 months to absorb into the subconscious. The luscious imagery of The Sacred Circle Tarot promises to be very thought provoking indeed. The book that accompanies the deck reflects a wiccan/druidic magickal practice but retains the ancient association of swords with air, wands with fire. Many of the new decks that reflect the wiccan tradition reverse the elemental meaning of swords and wands. Being a traditionalist, and follower of a Scottish shamanic path, I prefer to use decks that keep the swords as air and wands as fire. The Sacred Circle Tarot uses layered photographic imagery, created by overlaying Mason's collaged photographic images with symbols chosen by Anna Franklin. This deck, begun over 15 years ago, could only be completed in the manner the duo envisioned when they discovered the computer program Adobe Photoshop. Unlike other photographically collaged tarot decks, The Sacred Circle layers several different images with illustrations (ie. dragons and other non-photographic creatures/symbols) in a single scene as if the real and astral appeared in the same moment for the photographer's lens. The effect of the layering is surreal, opening a psychic doorway for the user by drawing the eye into a rich scenic image. It is rare for both a deck and book to capture my heart, Sacred Circle does so and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars very honest 25 Jun 2003

This is a good solid honest Tarot deck, really nice visually. Early days of getting to know it, but realised instantly that it tells it how it is ... a good thing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Attractive but with one major flaw 5 Jun 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is indeed an attractive deck but it unfortunately has one MAJOR flaw. The back of the cards are designed as such: two crossed swords behind a shinning disc, above the disk is a lovely cup. The problem is, due to the direction of the swords and the crowning cup, as you shuffle, cut and before you do your spred, you KNOWahead of time whether or not the card is going to be reversed or not. I find myself trying not to look at the cards as I shuffle or before I do a layout. This adds a strange sort of stress to each reading. The book is well researched in the Celtic vein and if you are not concerned with the above mentioned, it is definitely worth having.

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE 23 Feb 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
One of the most beautiful card-decks I discovered until now (beside the Haindl-Tarot). Excellent to meditate with. Tougher in divination-meanings than most of the "New-Age-Tarots", but because of that, much closer to reality. The fools journey opens a gate to spiritual growth and self-discovery. Nothing more to say, I simply love it :-).
