This book is immensely helpful for anyone who wants to set up their own business.
I bought this book as I had no experience in running a business, and wanted to set up a service to help others which I was very passionate about. This is definitely one of the best investments I've made.
Dr. Rob Yeung (Business Psychologist) takes you through all the stages of setting up a business from coming up with the actual business idea, doing your research about your clients/customers, setting up a business plan (one of the most useful things I did in the whole process!), financing your idea, and launching and selling it (something I wasn't confident doing until reading this section). It then gives advice about how to go about employing people when you get to that stage.
This book has helped me every step of the way, from coming up with my idea, all the way to setting it up. I am now running my practice and I'm having great success and loving every minute of it!! I've now started getting referrals so the words travelling and my business is growing. I still dip into this guide regularly as it's great to help keep you on track. Running a business does take some work, and there are ups and downs along the way (including making mistakes!). However learning from these is really helpful and improve your business in the long run!
At first I wasn't sure I had what it takes to run my own business, but Rob Yeung shows you that anyone with a passion to become an entrepreneur can make it! You just need to know how to go about it. Buy this book it is worth every penny!

I set up my own business a year ago and I thought I had learned all the necessary tools in order to become a successful entrepreneur; from attending networking sessions, to learning about book keeping and business plans. However, a year on, I was still struggling to take the first step and contact potentional clients.
I was planning on buying another book to my extensive collection of entrepreneurial books, when I came across Rob Young's New Rules. It was inspiring and it taught me all the things that other books did not explain, and that is how to prepare yourself mentally! and warns you of all the things that may go wrong and how to overcome them. It also helps you in all the stages of the entrepreneurial journey, from coming up with a winning business concept, to market research and finance. It goes through all stages in a very friendly and clear manner and it is very pleasant to read. I would thoroughly recommend it!
