Product Description

Product Description

Low-tech circuits, or repetitive exercises on specific muscle groups are an increasing popular way of exercising. This guide gives a structured fitness programme, designed to keep exercising time down to a minimum, with hints and tips on diet, and avoiding and coping with sports injury. The book starts with an eight-week beginner course leading to a basic level of fitness which can then be maintained indefinitely using the maintenance and specialization circuits. This section also shows how to concentrate on individual requirements and diversify into games and sports. There are self-assessment tests throughout and the final section gives a four-week course designed to bring you to a peak of physical and mental fitness for a tough challenge based on SBS/SAS selection procedures which very few will find possible.

Format:Paperback
A Useful guide covering a broad range of topics such as nutrition, planning circuit sessions and a wide range of body circuit exercises however in typical military style its terse with brief descriptions of the exercises although there are a lot of clear photographs. The book concentrates on the "nitty gritty" taking a practical approach and not burdening the reader with unecessary fitness science. Anyone who's getting into fitness and wants to gain some good basic knowledge of training technques would do well the buy this book.

I recieved the book this morning and have already read it all. It gives a structured 8 week circuit training schedule, including diet. If you would like to have a personally made circuit i.e. if you are training for a specific sport, there are guides on how to do this. Also there are loads of exercises for each area of the body which have picture diagrams and detailed explanations. I personally am going for my Potential Royal Marines Course in around 2 months so I will be using some of the dieting information plus using the exercises given to build my own circuits. Great book, does exactly what it's meant to do. Plus, No Gym Equipment is needed!

It gives an 8 week programme of diet, warm ups, stretching and exercise to develop all-round fitness. It requires minimum equipment (I only have dumbells) and can be done in a confined space at home. Ideal for busy people and reps on the road. You'll see improvement in 4 weeks.

Don't buy this book
This book is not a circuit training book. It requires a huge investment in equipment, contrary to one of the reviews below. It is a muddled book and it is hard to follow. Read more
