The first-ever film profile of the legendary WWII ground-attack aircraft, made from extensive, previously unreleased film from the IWM vaults which includes very early footage, early bomb and ditching tests, air-to-air, shoot down film from German cameras and extensive gun camera film. There are also exclusive interviews with four Typhoon pilots.

Format: DVD
Just to say I am no airplane expert but interested in WWII. The DVD follows the developement and service of the plane and consists of original footage of the plane in developement, on early missions across the channel and on the post D day missions. More important are the comments from pilots who flew the planes. One or two short clips appear twice but I found the film engaging and the pilots gave a real personal insight into the plane in use. All in all very interesting.

I was put off the series by the bad review of the Hurricane DVD. This dvd has a different approach as there is no plane to look at and in some ways I prefer this as I am interested in the plane as it was in WWII and the views of the pilots who used it when in service. I have no interest in flying the plane so pre flight checks are of no interest to me. The title of the series is Typhoon at war and that is what you get.

I found that I hadn't seen most of this footage before and therefore it was very interesting. It is well put together and very interesting.
