(Folk Devils And Moral Panics) in August 2008 by invitation of alt-folk pioneers (and heroes of the band) Candidate on the ethical downloads website indmill.com, the band contributed a track to a weird folk compilation CD (alongside some of some of our own favourite weird folk turns such as Arborea and The Gentle Good). In June 2009 the band released a 9 track mini-album entitled Midsummers inspired by the festival of midsummers. The mini-album included no less than three separate and very diverse versions of the ancient song Sumer Is I Cumen In. Midsummers was released on the bands own bespoke label millersounds, originally only available via their own website and then also branching out via Amazon, CD Baby etc. The band were surprised and very pleased, with the popularity of Midsummers without the aid of promotion, and seemingly by word of mouth and airplay on various friendly “contemporary folk” radio shows and podcasts alone. Heartwood - New Album released 20th September 2010 The recording of Heartwood began in October 2009 and was completed in April 2010. The complexity of arrangements necessitated that the final mixing took the remainder of April, May and June to complete. Heartwood contains 14 original self-penned compositions lovingly created, crafted and recorded. With the aim of achieving a totally pastoral feel to the album, electric instruments were locked away in favour of acoustic guitars, recorders, bouzouki and banjo alongside some woodwinds, woody strings, harp, contrabassoon, woodland triangle and glockenspiel (to name but a few).
