I was really disappointed in this book. We bought it as the author has written several guidebooks and this latest edition had just come out.
Very limited coverage of places other than Vancouver. The Whistler coverage is poor.
There are parts of the book which aren't consistent. For example, the Royal British Columbia (RBC) Museum in Victoria is described as "the best museum in Canada" (on page 218). I'm not sure then why the "world class Museum of Anthropology" (description on page 86) is listed as one of the "19 things not to miss" (pages 11-16), whilst the Victoria RBC museum is not. In fact, the RBC museum was okay, but not nearly on the same scale or in the same class as the Vancouver Museum of Anthropology.
In fact, the guidebook seems to be incredibly biased towards Victoria - this is not a balanced (or indeed accurate) account. I suspect the author had a particularly fun time there.
If you're ONLY in Vancouver, consider this guide. If not, get another.
The Vancouver coverage itself is adequate but not good.
