The book itself was infallibly useful for technical details- specifically the location and opening times of the touist information offices within each town. The slightly oppinionated commentary was also useful when deciding which town to visit, however a word of warning would be that places are only deemed interesting if there were lots of 'things to do' there i.e. historic churches or museums, it doesn't rate areas of beautifulscenery highly!!!

As always, the detailed information is superb. I have many Rough Guides and use them for all my European travel. My only complaint is that they don't provide sufficiently for the motorist. In the case of Austria, for instance, I want to know what road conditions are likely to be at various altitudes each month.
