This book changed my life and got me off medication. Everyone should read it and understand how food can make them ill.
Supermarkets are killing us and we need to fight back Ron tells you how to eat the right foods, and better still, explains why. This book should be compulsory reading before you go shopping.
You would not feed your car on sludge. Ron explains the good and bad aspects of common foods, and the effects on your body. I was a type 2 until I read this book. Now I am off the pills and very fit.

I am considering this book because of the "facts" concerning Statins and cholesterol, if one peruses the amazon u.s site the testimonials are glowing!? Presumably they are all mates of Dr Rosedale and he has enlisted everyone who revued just to get the dollars rolling in! So obviously he's a quack? How typically negative the three reviews are here, one could assume that the three haven't even read this book or even tried it? The difference I can see in his approach and he is a specialist in Leptin research by the way, is the difference to other low carb diets, I have tried the Atkins diet with some success, but it wasn't one I could make a lifestyle change on. However "restricted" Dr Rosedale's recipes may be surely one can't be that dim as not to be able to expand on the known foodstuffs you can eat and how one prepares them?
Think I'll make my own mind up and post back good or bad.

Ok a bit wordy. Couldn't get into it. A bit too American with ingredients etc. would prefer more recipes to help.

Excellent book that supports mercola's view points and a must for diabetics as they need to learn about lepton as well as insulin. Only book that explained smoking affects lepton e
Which affects insulin which gives high blood sugar.

The only thing I didn't like in it was all the dietary supplements. These are unproven though I can see the theoretical reasons for them. Ron is a fascinating character and undoubtedly a top doctor. His stuff on Leptin etc is brilliant.

This is good science and an interesting read and very helpful for anyone trying to mend a broken metabolism. It's only small drawback is that almost inevitably it provides recipe suggestions which are geared to US diet.

Excellent help for anyone who wants to take responsibility for their own well being. The protocol works if you stick with it. Do what the book says and you can't go wrong.

When you buy any eating plan reference book these days especially from USA you know the primary motive for the book is earn money for the author - if fact anything from the USA has a dollar tag. You also accept that it is going to packed out with waffle, banter and anecdotes. The real meat and bones of all eating plans could actually be published on a small pamplet but that would not warrent the price tag and generate max profits for the author and publisher.
Three fifths of the book are food choices and recipes , one third is a guide to suppliments and the other two thirds is the meat and bones of the concept.
I would wager you could reference all you need to know about Leptin on the net for free - however reading a hard copy is prefered
