"The Rosedale Diet is a must-read for anyone interested in health."--Dr. Joseph Mercola

Product Description

Finally--the ultimate diet for fast, safe weight loss, lifelong health, and longer life, based on more than twenty years of research and the latest findings on appetite and weight. Metabolic specialist Ron Rosedale, M.D., has designed the Rosedale Diet to regulate the powerful hormone leptin, which controls appetite and weight loss by telling the brain when to eat, how much to eat--and when to stop. New research shows that leptin may be one of the body's most important hunger control mechanisms. Control leptin, and you control your weight.

Most people's leptin levels are out of control, causing them to overeat and to store fat rather than burn it. The only way to flip the "hunger switch" back to normal is through a diet high in healthy fats and low in carbohydrates, saturated fat, and trans-fatty acids often found in processed food--plus just 15 minutes of daily exercise.

Dr. Rosedale's 21-day diet plan is simple: Just select from the many foods on his "A" list, including "healthy-fat" foods such as avocados, nuts, olives, lobster, crab, shrimp, goat cheese, Cornish game hen, venison, and more. Then gradually add foods from the "B" list, such as steak, lamb chops, fruits, beans, and so on. A 28-day menu plan and more than 100 recipes, such as Dilled Salmon and Fresh Asparagus, Gingery Chicken Soup, Lasagna, Black Bean Wrap, Raspberry Mousse Cake, and French Silk Pie, make eating the Rosedale way deliciously easy.

Weight loss is just the beginning. The Rosedale Diet will make you feel satisfied, reduce cravings, and put you in control of your "sweet tooth." It can even help eliminate or reduce heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and other conditions associated with "natural" aging, as many of Dr. Rosedale's patients can attest. You'll find inspiring stories from them--and the power to control your weight and improve your health--in this groundbreaking book.

Nutrition 27 April 2009
By Jeeves
Format:Paperback
I was looking for a book which would have enough information to enable me to make long term changes to my diet for health benefits. This book sounded crediible, and although I could see that it might help someone suffering from Type 11 daiabetes, I found the diet too limited to follow for long, and I don't really feel that restricting intake of fruit and complex carbohydrates, and then taking vast amounts of supplements really makes much sense.

Old ideas 20 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was very dissapointed. Author's ideas about fattening food are already old. I have not found any solution to my own problem, I know that he proposes and despite this opinions are not new, they do not work, anyway for me and similar persons, means disabled and eating not too much, even never really hungry.

Breakthru!! 12 Dec 2004
By G. Kerkhoven - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I ate 6 months successfully according to the South Beach Diet (lost 10 kilograms and lots of fat), but suddenly I started to gain wait again, so I tried Phase 1 of Atkins, which worsened my situation; UNTIL I discovered and read the book of Rosedale; he explains why you should eat moderate quantities of protein (which I didn't do of course in Atkins Phase 1 ) ànd you should be careful with "normal" meat, because saturated fat cause a raise in leptin, which causes you to become fatter ànd you should eat LOTS of GOOD fats!! So I started to eat more fish, lots of olives and avocado's, lots of olive oil, nuts and less protein, and miracle oh miracle, I immediately lost fat and weight on the right places, WITHOUT any effort :-))

The key is leptin and Rosedale explain very well what leptin is, which type of food raises your leptin level, why that damages your health and even more important, he explains what you should and shouldn't eat in order to get your leptin in control again, with that comes weight and fat loss VERY EASILY

To Lose Weight, Eat More Good-Quality Fat . . . 8 Sep 2004
By Shelley D. Schlender - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
We all know people who seem to stay trim and fit on a high-carb, low-fat diet. But most of us also know folks who, no matter how hard they try, can't seem to make this "standard healthy diet" work. So they blame their weak willpower, or they throw up their hands and say they were born unlucky. If you're one of these, or you know someone who's in a losing battle against their appetite, this book is perfect. Ron Rosedale gives a clear-headed explanation about why . . . and how . . . changing to a diet that's low in starchy carbs and high in good-quality fats, can restore a body's natural ability to match appetite with energy needs, WITHOUT counting calories or exercising like mad. It may sound crazy, eating more fat to lose unwanted pounds and reverse disease, but read the book and see what you think. Considered one of the nation's deepest thinkers, when it comes to the links between nutrition and health, Dr. Rosedale gives clear explanations about why his dietary approach may help people get off of medications for high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and depression, to name a few. There are plenty of recipes, plus an extensive reference section of scientific papers. This book is bound to be controversial, since it challenges standard dietary thinking, which is another reason that it's exciting to read.

A Miracle 24 Oct 2004
By Leelioux - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
My mother sent me this book and I received it 2 weeks ago. I began the plan last Friday and have lost 8lbs in the first week. I have a long way to go, but my constant hunger is GONE. I don't think about food 24/7, and when I eat, it doesn't take much to satisfy me and I just stop when I reach that point. This plan is so easy, and I don't have to cut out my favorite foods, so I know this is something that I'll stick to for the rest of my life. I feel like for the first time in my life, food has no power over me anymore. I realized yesterday that I haven't had chocolate in a week, but more astounding to me, I haven't THOUGHT about chocolate in a week! Coming from a chocoholic, that's pretty incredible. I feel great, have plenty of energy, and didn't go through any "withdrawls" like I used ot when I'd do just a low-carb diet. I recommend this to anyone who has struggled with their weight and has tried everything else. This really does work. Thank you Dr. Rosedale! My mother put it best - Why didn't anyone write this book 30 years ago?
