Book Description

Oct 1996
When trouble comes, you can usually find Jim Rockford in the middle of it.... And this time is no exception. Rockford is expecting a quiet day of lazing around the beach and evading the bill collectors; sure, he gets $200 a day, but there haven't been too many days of work coming his way. Lucky for him, he's just found a missing green bottle for a rich - and very grateful - client. That's taken care of last month's bills. Today he's going to get lucky enough to take care of next month's bills, too, when an eccentric old lady shows up with a sob story about a lost cat - and with a big expense check in advance. Or lucky is how it's going to look, for a little while. Then Rockford's going to find out about the stolen property, and the beautiful woman who's disappeared into the dangerous glitter of Hollywood, and the Pulp Fiction look-alikes who want to rearrange his anatomy. And then he's going to find out that the case of the green bottle wasn't quite as simple as it looked....

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as the original Rockford files 12 April 1999
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Kaminsky captures Rockford's sardonic style perfectly. All the old-time cast members appear in the book -- Angel, Becker, Beth Davenport. Kaminsky truly understands the anti-hero appeal of Rockford. If you loved the series, you'll love this book.

By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Everyone's favorite television private-eye is back in this fast-paced mystery. Rockford is hired to recover a stolen collectible bottle which leads him to hunt for a missing girl. Along the way Rockford is waylaid and encounters other characters from the television show, including his friend Angel, attorney Beth, inspector Dennis Becker, and a host of unsavory thugs out to end his life or make it miserable.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Rockford File: The Green Bottle 3 July 2010
By HUNTER
Format:Hardcover
I loved the t.v series about Jame ROCKFORD P.I. and so on finding that there were books available decided to try one. They don't seem to be easy to find so Amazon was ideal to get a copy.

If you enjoyed the t.v. series the book will not let you down, if you've never seen the show the book still won't let you down!!

Knowing the character portrayed ON T.V. by James GARNER as soon as you read the book it was just like you were involved in watching another episode. This book (and the other book, 'Devil on My Doorstep') read just as though they were scripts for unreleased shows. The author, Stuart M KAMINSKY, had you sucked in, these were my first books I'd read by him, and he just had you turning page after page. The books both felt like they ended too soon, I could have read another 400 pages!

The only down side for me with regard to the Rockford Files books is that there are that I'm aware of, only the two of them.... THERE SHOULD BE MORE!

I really enjoyed 'The Green Bottle' and I would recommend it to anyone.
