4.0 out of 5 stars Roaring Through Tudor Streets 4 Mar 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm always attracted to anything set in the Elizabethan/Tudor period, so having enjoyed Christopher Uptake: The Life and Times of a Godless Play-Maker, I couldn't resist this - and it delivered. Crisp, engaging writing from the first line carries you along into a thrilling story. Recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit flat 16 Nov 2012
By Pete N
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I may not be a good reviewer because I need to have read more of the Nicholas Bracewell series, but I was a bit disappointed with this one. The book has a reasonable storyline, but was less plausible (see, for example, the poets near escape from torture) than some others in the series, especially "The Trip to Jerusalem" It created the claustrophobic environment of London, both physical and political fairly well, but I became a bit shell-shocked with the rapid toing and froing across London. It will not stop me reading more of the series, but I may approach the later books with some caution

Yet another exciting and enthralling novel in the Nick Bracewell series. These thrillers keep you guessing to the end just like those in the raoilwy detective and doomesday series by the same author.. Brilliant
