Book Description

5 May 2004
Phil Llewellin is an award-winning writer whose adventures have enthralled readers of leading magazines and newspapers worldwide. His two million motoring miles - in everything from modern and classic cars to powerful American trucks - have taken him to wild places like Afghanistan, China, Tobago, Sudan, Alaska and Borneo. He has been to the end of the world's southernmost road in Tierra del Fuego and, of course, to Muckle Flugga, the northernmost point in the British Isles, arriving there on the longest day of the year. Here he chronicles some of the most exciting journeys.

Brilliantly written by the late, great Phil Llewellin; brings back memories of a wonderful wordsmith in Car magazine, The Audi magazine, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much missed 4 April 2013

Phil writes beautifully, and these stories show him at the top of his game.

He writes simply, but don't be fooled; writing like this is very, very hard to do but, like all masters, he makes it look easy.

All car enthusiasts should own a copy.

I am a Petrol (Diesel) Head so anything motor related is a buzz. This is more of a laid-back travelog and mopre the better for it.

Some great stories and very interesting pictures from one of my favourite writers on matter motor related.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great writer and a great loss 27 Dec 2012

Phil Llewellin's articles were always the ones I saved until last and read over and over again. His death a 64 was a huge loss to journalism - read this book. Phil takes you across continents using exquisite and humorous prose - if you like travel or like vehicles or eevn better enjoy both this is a must to read.
