Product Description

When it comes to real love, it's all about making the right choice. Advice columnist Carly Wexler is planning her wedding the same way she's planned her life - perfectly. Though her heart doesn't leap when she thinks of her future fiance, she's certain the union is for the best. That is until she meets sexy photo journalist Mike Novak, who is everything she's tried to avoid...hot, passionate, and forbidden. Mike tells himself that the beautiful Carly is off-limits. But each moment he spends with the bride-to-be convinces him that she is marrying the wrong guy for the wrong reason. What she really needs is a man to sweep her off her feet before she makes the biggest mistake of her life. And with one week to go before the wedding, he's got to make sure he is that man.

Making the Right Choice 31 Jan 2006
By Christina Pitts - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
When first getting into this story, you don't even expect the twist that comes. As the story starts off, Carly Wexler is already engaged and is trying to plan almost everything for her wedding on her own. Her fiance, Peter Novak, is shown to be a work-aholic and sends his brother Mike Novak out to help Carly with the planning. When Carly and Mike first meet, you can tell that some sparks are flying between the two but Carly tries to deny the feelings she has for him, but can't for too long. By the end of the story, details into Mike and Carly's lives are revealed, explaining a lot. Also, Peter is caught in a crude act which pushes Carly even farther than she has already gone.

I would definitely reccommend this book to anyone who is interested in romance novels. The details to some of the intense sex scenes are extremely classy and don't get too involved but you still feel the passion between the two people. I've always been really interested in romance novels because most of the time, love is not as it seems in the books. This is one book I will always remember reading.

The Right Choice in Reading 14 Sep 2000
By Barbara O'Neill - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Karen Drogin does is again, serving up a tempting summertime reading dish with "The Right Choice." Intense at times and at other times evoking a chuckle or two, this story, about two people who'd been orphaned as children (literally and figuratively), will tug your emotions and keep you turning the pages.

Carly Wexler finds out in the nick of time that her fiancé, Pete Novack, is not the perfect match she'd convinced herself he is. Adding to her confusion over his infidelity and her conception of what she'd always thought she wanted is the fact that Pete's brother, Mike (arrived for his part as best man) stirs feelings in her that she never once felt for Pete. Pete & Mike were orphaned as children and a family scandal early in her life left Carly with feelings of abandonment and animosity towards her parents. When Mike and Carly are together the sparks fly, yet neither is at the point in their lives where they can make commitments to the other.

Readers will enjoy watching Mike and Carly come to terms with their pasts and work out their differences--with Mike it's going back into dangerous territory to finish an assignment he'd left half-done after tragedy struck, with Carly it's facing her parents, getting the true story behind the scandal--so they can move forward together.

My only regret in reading "The Right Choice" is knowing that Kensington has decided to terminate the Zebra Bouquet line. Ms. Drogin has one more title coming out later this year, "The Solitary Man," which I am eagerly looking forward to. I can only hope another publisher will snap up this author's work and get it out to the readers. We deserve the best and Ms.Drogin knows how to provide it.

Engaging Read 19 Aug 2011

What if the predetermined Right Choice isn't the right choice at all?

Hooray for individuality and realizing one's true desires. I know when I grab any one of Carly Phillips' books, I am in for a treat. The Right Choice is more than a treat. The writing flows well and drew me in right away. One sitting. I literally started at page one and didn't get up until the end. Why? I had to know what would happen. There are so many plot twists that are not at all what I expected that once I thought I knew what would happen--the story zagged. And it all worked so well.

Carly knows exactly what she wants in life. Or so she thinks. She's easy for lots of us to relate to. We think we know what we want and then when presented with it, we realize it might not be what we thought. Sure, there are times when she comes across rather fretful and almost weepy. Come on. We've all been there. Confusion, desire, and one darned hot guy to stir the pot.

Then there's Mike. The man is headstrong. Like Carly, he knows what he wants and takes it. Sometimes he comes across as a steamroller, just doing what he wanted without thought to her. But being all male and very alpha. I didn't agree with some of the things he did, but I could forgive it because his heart is in the right place. Oh, and when he and Carly mix it up? The emotion, though not blatantly obvious is palpable. You feel it.

If you want a book that shows the true strength of the human psyche, then you need to read The Right Choice. 4.5 books, definitely.
