5.0 out of 5 stars Great Walking Companion 12 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
We walked the Ridgeway in May 08 and found this book invaluable especially as between the 3 of us we had no sense of direction or distance travelled. This book gave us enough information step by step. There were one or two inaccuracy's that we noticed, but mainly landmarks like the Double Decker bus near Sparsholt Down, which was no longer there because the owner had moved on. If you were limited with space in your backpack and required a comprehensive reference to the Ridgeway, I would certainly make room for this travelling companion. This publication was definitely our 4th member of the team!

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but some inaccuracies 16 Dec 2008
By Amanda
Format:Paperback
We walked the Ridgeway in summer '08 and found this book fairly helpful. The route is really well signposted so you'd struggle to get lost but there was some useful information on things along the way including accomodation. However a number of the maps have clear inaccuracies (slopes the wrong way round and mis-labelled) which were briefly confusing! The walk is recommended - we did it in 5 days - and were passed by two youngsters doing it in 2.

We walked half of the ridgeway using an os map and used the book for points of interest along the way.
