Product Description

Twenty-five years later, revisiting the first authorized biography of Apple and its co-founder and celebrity CEO, Steve Jobs. In 1984, The Little Kingdom: The Private Story of Apple Computer told the story of Apples first decade alongside the histories of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Now, completely revised and expanded, Return to the Little Kingdom is the definitive biography of Apple and its founders from the very beginning. Moritz brings readers inside the childhood homes of Jobs and Wozniak and records how they dropped out of college and founded Apple in 1976. He follows the fortunes of the company through the mid-1980s, and in new material, tracks the development of Apple to the present and offers an insider's profile of Jobs, whose genius made Apple the powerhouse it is today. Required reading for everyone who's ever listened to music on an iPod, Return to the Little Kingdom is timely and thorough, and the only book that explains how Steve Jobs founded the company that changed our world.

This book is very well written and easy to read. It's broken up into snippets of Apple and the founders. I found this an interesting read as it describes the origin of the creators and their mind set right back to their early school days and the environment around them at the time. Things are different in the world of computers now compared to then, but similar obstacles exist and it's interesting to see how the Apple set tackled them. If you are interested in Apple's products, founders, origins or even the brand this is a good read. If you're not, it might be a little to intense and you may find some of the content such as the early days tinkering within the school electronic labs a little too much depth on the subject.

A quality book about Steve Jobs covering all aspects of his life from early teens to eventual success with Apple 1 and a little beyond.
It is very well written in a professional manner and keeps you engrossed all the way through.

It is difficult to fully appreciate just how different and awkward early computers were to use. Linking bits together, typing code or running tapes to get it started and then being confined to using a small selection of software.
When Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were trying to sell computer boards at the Homebrew Computer Club in the 1970's, it was to enthusiasts who did not mind tinkering. By the time the Macintosh arrived in 1984, Apple was a growing profitable company selling a complete package to industry and domestic users.
This book provides a detailed look at how it all came about. The successes, failures and personalities that created a company so different to IBM and Hewlett Packard.
I have been using Apple computers for nearly two decades. I have bought in to the aspirations that come with buying such a machine. I 'Think Different', but still do a lot of computing and enjoy the experience using a current iMac.
Once you have read Return to the Little Kingdom, I think you will appreciate why owners and users of Apple computers are so devoted and happy that they have made the right choice.
The four star rating is only because I would have preferred to see a few photographs includedReturn to the Little Kingdom: Steve Jobs, the creation of Apple, and how it changed the world
