Product Description

All 16 episodes from the second series of the documentary show following architect George Clarke as he journeys across the British Isles to help with various restoration and conversion projects on old, disused buildings. While taking a look at the history of these structures, which include churches, water towers, a medieval hall and a Victorian brickworks, George assists their owners with the challenges they face as they attempt to transform the buildings into new homes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Many Revisits! 8 Dec 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Much as I love George Clarke's shows, it was a big disappointment to start watching 'Restoration Man - Series Two', and find that more than half the episodes so far have been 'revisits'. This means that three quarters of the running time of these episodes is a recap of material that was in Series One. Much as I like to know what's happened since the original episode, I don't need to see the whole thing all over again. George is great, and the houses inspirational. However, I don't need to be inspired by the same house twice. Be warned....

4.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous program but a couple too many revisits 28 May 2014
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
A new renovation with George Clark is always very good. If they were all new renovations, it would have been five stars. There are, in all, seven revisits to renovations that have been in earlier programmes out of the 16 episodes. Six revisits are from series one and one is actually a revisit of a series two renovation later on in the series. Perhaps, if I had watched them spaced out a bit further, it would have been better. As it is, I watched both series one and two over about five weeks so, when I got to a revisited renovations, it felt like I had been there recently. Even this would not have mattered as new material had been added in places. However, when nothing further had happened with the actual renovation since the first programme, there was a bit of an anti-climax. Sure, it is interesting to know that the person that did the renovation ran out of money or steam but to sit through an entire programme with mainly the material from the original episode to find that out was a bit irritating. Nevertheless, there are nine fantastic new renovation projects that are exciting and they are worth getting the series for.
