More About the Author

Russell Miller is an award-winning journalist, scriptwriter and author based in the United Kingdom. The movie "Lorenzo's Oil", starring Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon, was based on a feature he wrote for the Sunday Times Magazine. His first book, "Bunny, The Real Story of Playboy", was voted the best non-fiction book of the year and his biography of L.Ron Hubbard, exposing the lies promoted by the Church of Scientology about its founder, was the subject of ferocious litigation around the world and was eventually withdrawn from publication in the United States. Russell is currently working on a biography of Field Marshal Slim, the hero of the Burma campaign in the Second World War.

A great overview of the resistance across many countries during the war. The pictures added to the overall presentation of what it was like during that time.
Another in a great series of popular WWII history books 8 Aug. 2014

Another in a great series of popular WWII history books! I'm working on a story idea about the Dutch Resistance. This was one of the first books I looked for in gaining an overview of the subject. The book is filled with pictures and maps which help the book in showing the history as well as telling about it. Highly recommended for anyone looking into this aspect of WWII for the first time. Should be in every public library and every high school and college library too!
