The Remix Collection

I thought I'd pipe in here that this packaging is actually a re-package of a previous greatest hits package called:
"CULTURE CLUB: Collect-12" Mixes Plus
I bought this collection when it was originally released by EMI in 1991 on the Virgin/VIP label.
Great packaging of GREAT remix work here....worth every penny!

Two compilations are identical (with the exception of title and artwork):

12" Mixes Plus - Collect - EMI/Virgin (1991/2002)
Remix Collection - EMI Gold Imports (2006)

1. Move Away (12' Mix) 7:28
The extended mix of their "comeback" single which reached No.7 in
the spring of 1988.

2. It's A Miracle-Miss Me Blind (US 12' Mix) 9:10
A wonderful segue of two of the best songs from "Color by Numbers".
This version also available on: "This Time: First Four Years" EMI Europe (1993)

3. God Thank You Woman (Extended Version) 7:04
The band's last single, issued in unhappy times (May `86)
A great track, even better remixed.

4. I'll Tumble 4 Ya (US 12' Remix) 4:38
CC's 3rd American Top 10 hit, this remix appeared on the `B' side of
the "Karma Chameleon" 12 inch in the U.K.
This version also available on:
"This Time: First Four Years" EMI Europe (1993)

5. Love Is Cold (You Were Never No Good) 4:22
B side of "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me".
A remastered copy is available as a bonus track on:
the "Kissing to Be Clever" remastered album.

6. Do You Really Want To Hurt Me (Dub Version) 3:38
The 12"dubbed version. Captain Crucial rappin'!

7. Everything I Own (Boy George) (Extended P W Botha Mix) 7:13
Boy George's first solo single - climbed to No. 1 in only 2 weeks.
Extended 12" Version.

8. Color By Numbers 3:57
The title track of the album of the same name, BUT
this song wasn't even on that album!!
`B' Side of Victims"
A remastered copy is available as a bonus track on:
the "Colour by Numbers" remastered album.

9. From Luxury To Heartache (12' Version) 4:23
The title track of the album of the same name.
This song wasn't on that album, either!!

10. Time (Clock Of The Heart) (Instrumental Mix) 3:45
A really nice instrumental remix from the 12" single.
A remastered copy is available as a bonus track on:
the "Kissing to Be Clever" remastered album as
"Romance Beyond the Alphabet" (Track 13).

11. Black Money 5:19
from the "Colour by Numbers" album

12. Love Is Love 3:51
VERY popular in Japan.
A remastered copy is available as a bonus track on:
the "Waking Up with the House on Fire" remastered album,
along with "The Dream", which came from the "Electric Dreams" soundtrack as well.

13. Man-Shake 2:35
Helen Terry (of Black Money fame)
rejoins the band with some kickin' vocals.
A remastered copy is available as a bonus track on:
the "Colour by Numbers" remastered album.

14. The War Song (Ultimate Dance Mix) 6:18
The best mix of this song I have ever heard!

All tracks on these compilations are unique due to the mixing on this release.
They jacked-up the percussion a bit, possibly also bass guitar.
The sound is really great and only enhances the tracks.

as well as on the "Kissing to Be Clever" remastered album as a bonus track) and
"Mystery Boy" (Available on the "Colour by Numbers" remastered album as a bonus track).
It seems this is the only CD to contain the "Gusto Blusto" Rock Mix.
Gusto Blusto (Single Version) is available on the "From Luxury to Heartache" album,
available at Amazon UK.

If you already own "12" Mixes Plus - Collect" or "Remix Collection",
you may not want 12" Collection Plus, unless you want the 3 tracks differing from the albums reviewed here. Note the similarity of the titles.

Question:
I have read elsewhere that "Remix Collection - EMI Gold Imports (2006)" is possibly a remastered copy of "12" Mixes Plus - Collect - EMI/Virgin (1991/2002)". Can anybody confirm for certain if this is true or not?

This CD is very valuable to me. I have been crazy in love with Boy George for years, and it's so hard to find the (12" single) version of the song 'The clock' in all albums, I'm still tryiing hard to search for it. And now although this album has only got the original version of 'The clock', I do like the quality of this CD & many other songs with different versions inside, so I decide to buy it. Don't miss it if you like Boy George.
