Review

It's about time there was a novel about Reiki. And as an added bonus it is a suspense/mystery story. This is a great read and I recommend the book to all. --(Steve Murray, world renowned Reiki Master and best selling author of Reiki: The Ultimate Guide)

5.0 out of 5 stars Spellbinding! 2 Jan 2011
Format:Paperback
The Reiki Man should be the dictionary definition of the term 'page-turner'. I haven't been this absorbed in a novel since The Da Vinci Code, but Dominic C. James has mastery of characterisation, imagery and pacing which far surpasses other writers in this genre.

I understand that The Reiki Man is merely the first in a planned trilogy and I literally cannot wait to discover the fate of Stratton!

5.0 out of 5 stars At last a thriller with a difference 7 Jan 2011
By E. Reed
Format:Paperback
A stunning debut from author Dominic C. James. The Reiki Man transcends categories and by its nature is difficult to define. I love that, but the beauty is you won't notice when you read it. You'll finish in one sitting and then wonder what hit you.

The Reiki Man is a fast-paced, snappy, thriller/murder-mystery with the emphasis on mystery; bringing the power of Reiki to the masses in an unusual way. Full of fascinating characters that burst off the page and pull you in, one of the main strengths of this book is how the author merges a relentless plot with some exceptionally believable anti-heroes together with undertones of dark humour, making the spiritual side of the novel totally convincing. It's like three books for the price of one, but is so deviously woven together, you won't see the seams.

A more intelligent read than some "off the shelf" best sellers I've read lately, The Reiki Man will be of interest to those with a grounding in all things spiritual and thriller fans alike, due to some superior writing and a very clever storyline. The mind blowing twist at the end suggests this might not be the last we've heard from Stratton and co...

I do not take the term "page turner" lightly but this one shines... get yourself a copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just `a good read' 27 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback
If the definition of `a good read' is that you don't want to put a book down, then this is definitely a good read. Not only is this book well written and well-paced, but it intrigues: it opens up new possibilities about what passes for reality. It's hard to believe that this is Dominic's first published work, a fact perhaps explained by the book's subject. Like the `hero' Stratton, Dominic has been inspired, in more ways than one, by Reiki. Not only does he show a deep and respectful understanding for the energy and healing that is Reiki, but he has no doubt allowed Reiki to guide his writing. Forget Reiki as yet another alternative therapy: after reading this book you'll recognise that it is far, far, more than that. It is said that a story gets across a challenging idea far better than prose. The true ideas behind and practice of Reiki are most definitely profound, yet Dominic's wonderful storytelling makes them accessible in a way few text books on Reiki do . . . and that's speaking as an author of one of them!
