Pat Mill's story of Necromundan Klan-like religious cult, the Redemptionists, tells the Redeemer, who is sent on a mission to the Underhive to basically burn, scourge and purge.
While some of the action is exciting, and the art is good throughout (I especially liked some of the fire effects) I feel the story does fall a little flat, in terms of pace and style.
Not to be dismissed, not to be worshipped.

If it doesn't hurt, it doesn't count! 19 Nov 2010

In this over the top insane comic book, we're treated to the grim darkness that is the Warhammer 40,000 universe through the eyes of fanatical Klovis the Redeemer and his army of zealots as they fight against ratskinned cultists, plague zombies, and each other. Klovis is definitely not one you would call a "hero", thus he befits the very universe he's in, as he scourges and purges heretic and mutant alike with a giant chainsword called "the Evicerator".

The writing and dialogue is very amusing and just from the first page alone you know you're going to be in for some hilarity. The art is very well done, and each character's emotions are easily determinable just by their face alone. Though most of the time said emotion is "crazed with zeal". The coloring is also beautifully worked, giving the scenes a very vibrant, yet dark and gritty feel that really suits the setting and the backgrounds, with their quirky little details, help bring to life the action in the forefront, and what action it is!

Both comic fans and Warhammer 40k fans alike will enjoy this tale in the 40k universe, as it gives a very nice look at just how beautifully insane the grim darkness of the 41st millennium can be!
