This is a great story for children who are growing up and may even be starting school (embarking on a new adventure in life!) but are unsure about if it is ok to still have 'comfort toys'. Julia, the main character, has a red woollen blanked that she has been attached to since she was a baby and they have shared many adventures together. As time goes on and bits of the blanked fall prey to life, Julia finds that although she still loves the comfort of what's left, the blanket simply isn't as important to her as it once was.
Look out for Julia and her mother as passers-by in an illustration in another of Bob Graham's books - I missed it, but my kids picked it straight away.
