The TV series was an interesting and sometimes quirky guide to architectural salvage. I have to say this is a super companion to it - it's a beautifully put together book containing not just a lot of wonderful photography, but an excellent overall introduction to salvage. It also contains a directory of salvage yards merchants that's as comprehensive as any I've seen.
As an experienced salvage merchant myself, I now recommend it to any clients who are coming new to salvage, don't know a lot about it, but would like a good basic introduction, full of tips and advice.

I really enjoyed the Reclaimers series on the BBC. This book is a really great extension to that series. Although it is by no means a text book, the idea and pictures provide a great deal of inspiration and I was soon looking at my home through different eyes. I'm now a regular at my local reclamation yard (found through the books contacts section). Read the book and then get your hands dirty.

Having seen the TV series I was very interested in this subject but felt the presenters sometimes didn't give the really important information crucial for a beginner to this field. This book is well written and informative, elaborating on the many topics touched on in the series. I would recommend this book for anyone keen on salvage.
