3.0 out of 5 stars Once you have seen it, you have seen it. 19 April 2011
This is the far-fetched story of a hard-up woman who is desperately in need of money to help her dangerously ill daughter. A huge inheritance ( five million) can be hers on condition that she kill someone who allegedly deserves to die.

Some things can have that special magic that means you want to return to them again and again.... how many times do people watch the BBC Pride and Prejudice? How often will the DVD of the Killing be revisited? Gavin and Stacey, I have to ration myself.

The Reckoning however, if you missed it on TV, you would be better to rent rather to buy, because although it passes the time well enough, once you have seen it, you have seen it.

3.0 out of 5 stars MORAL DILEMMA 22 Dec 2012
By Michael
A woman goes to the reading of a will of a man she doesn't know. He will leave her 5 million pounds if she kills a man. Her daughter has cancer and they want the money to send her to America for treatments. They are faced with a moral dilemma.

Meanwhile there are things happening in the subplot to make you realize she is not the only one with this offer. More interested to solve the mystery than get the money, Sally Wilson (Ashley Jensen) begins her own investigation.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, no sex, no nudity.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a let down 22 April 2011
I watched this on ITV and although I enjoyed it I wouldn't watch it again. A woman is left £5 million in a will (which she is in need of as she has a terminally ill daughter) if she kills a man who deserves to die.
The drama was shown in 2 parts and although I enjoyed the first part I felt the second part was a bit of a let down. The whole plot seemed a bit too drawn out so that the ending which could have been great was basically crammed into the last 5 minutes and therefore came across as too rushed and ruined what could have been a great drama.
Ashley Jensen is fantastic in it and is the reason I gave it an extra star(I was going to rate it a 3 star) as her acting was amazing and I really felt for her character.
If you get the chance to watch it on TV great but I wouldn't rush out and buy it on dvd.

1.0 out of 5 stars This Is What I Reckon....... 23 May 2011
The plot has more holes than than a Swiss cheese, Ashley Jensen is simpering and hopeless in the lead part, Max Beesley looks like he'd rather be anywhere else, the aforementioned actors have no chemistry, the lame script insults its audience and the final couple of minutes is so barking mad you'll be sat in disbelief. One for the ITV toilet.
