An excellent portrayal of the conditions of exploitation of the South American peasantry. A complete justification of the need for violent revolution as the only true solution to oppression.

This novel is a living description of the awful exploitation (near slavery) thousands of South-Americans falled in and of their logical final reaction to that barbary. Don't look for the exotism of the forest, but in a way you will understand why people can sometimes be so violent today.
