Product Description

Product Description

Karypsic’s mission to wipe out the human reality was deflected by their champion, the Great Heart, and Radlan — Karypsic’s human twin. The survivors on both sides of the Reality War now face the hardest battle of all: how to live in the new realities they have made, worlds changed beyond belief, forged in a terrifying war.

Time...

Time is running out — the Reality War is escalating.

Time is corroding — the past is becoming unreliable, causality splintering.

Time...

Time is the early Jurassic. This is the where the great battle of the Reality War will be fought / was always fought/ was never fought because the war once won could never have occurred, and the losing side will never have existed. It is now that the riddle of Paradox One will be answered.

But the riddle has many possible solutions, and only the winner of the Reality War gets to choose.

This is the concluding volume of The Reality War.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly remarkable story 26 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
When I read book 1 of the series early this year I was very impressed with the author's ability to pull you through the complexities of time travel and parallel universes. Book 1 was a very good book but now I realise that Book2 is even better. I was a little confused at first because Book 2 is a seamless progression from Book 1 and in the time interval between the readings I had forgotten some of the facts. Luckily I also had a copy of Book 1 for reference, when you reach 80yrs. your memory loses its edge. The story progresses at a fast pace whilst Radlan fights to save the world. If Hollywood gets hold of the story they may call it Jurassic Park Returns or The Extinction of the Dinosaurs because I really began to think that the author had discovered the reason for the extinction of the dinosaurs.
In such a convoluted and complicated story I was impressed by the author's ability to mix and match the real world with fantasy and fiction so well. I particularly liked the episode in Nelly's bar which took me on a personal time travel. About 60 yrs ago some friends from Hull took me out to an old 16th century inn called the White Horse in Beverley about 10miles north of Hull. Although called The White Horse it was known to everyone as Nellies. Nelly was the elderly lady serving up the beers, I think that she was the Landlord but I can't be certain. However it was a place of great character with gas lamp lighting and a big fire to keep you warm in the winter, an ideal place to creep into a time travel mystery. I have just searched the internet for The White Horse Inn, Beverley,UK and Nellies came up the photo's on the site so it must be the same place as the one in the story.
The story tugs you into the plot relentlessly and I became quite moved by the events leading up to Jill becoming reunited with her father Radlan. This was cleverly written so that you had worked out the how the meeting would take place but couldn't wait for it to happen. The description of the punishment system was disturbing where the offenders had to meekly turn up for their punishment and rehabilitation training. The treatment included being naked and tied to a frame whilst being instructed by a beautiful young lady into the reason for the treatment to clear your mind and set you on the correct path.
The story moves on quickly in convoluted loops towards the conclusion where everything may end up peacefully. However we need to open our minds to quantum physics and parallel universes to appreciate the complexity. I only wish the tutor had read this book before our lectures on quantum physics when I was at university because it was much clearer to understand than his lectures. Maybe in the future students will be given the books to read in advance of discussions on quantum physics as part of university courses.
The only negative points that I could make are that the story would benefit from little side panels that explain some of the subtle reasons why characters were despatched to far away places to defend their version of the reality. It all becomes clear in the end but I was left confused at times.
Summing up, the two books must be read together and make up an excellent story, they need reading more than once to appreciate the finer points as the penny drops. The sub plot of the changing relationship between Radlan and his daughter Jill is a masterpiece. In conclusion the story is well written and stretches the brain and imagination in a way few writers succeed in doing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Time travelers wanted...you will love this adventure. 11 Nov 2012
By Melissa Bryan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
After reading Reality War #1, I couldn't wait to read The Reality War # 2 to see where the journey was going to take me and see how it was all going to come together.

Book 2 goes into more depth on the alien's life/family and the ongoing war on earth and how the two intertwine for the big ending. The story continues and moves at a quick pace. We find out what happened when the time traveler does start a family in the past. How it not only affected the earth but also the invading aliens past and future. This novel has time travel forward and backwards trying to stop the alien war and save the time traveler's family to keep from changing history or the future.

There is a recurring character that pops in and out of both novels 1 and 2. He reminds me of the Cheshire Cat, you never know when he is going to show up and

In closing, I loved these novels and I haven't read any sci-fi for a few years. I have been reading more fantasy and horror. I guess I got away from it because my favorite science fiction writer, Spider Robinson, stop writing about Callahan's Saloon. Now I have Tim C. Taylor to follow, can't wait for the next story, and I am sure you will feel the same. What a ride.
4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting premise 2 May 2013

I liked the premise of the book with alternate realities. It was interesting to see how the author used Pilgrims Progress as an analogy to the story.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first book. 27 Jan 2013

I downloaded the first book and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so, that as soon as I finished it, I hunted up the Book 2 and bought it. It seamlessly continues the story, but after the first third of the book, it got difficult to keep up with. My interest began to wane, and by the end of the book I was bored and just ready for the story to finish. Frankly I was disappointed in this second installment, and the only reason I gave it three stars instead of two is that I enjoyed the first part of the book.

It is not totally bad, but certainly not as good as the first book.
