The Real Witches year 21 Feb 2005
By Clare VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
Another welcome addition to The Real Witches series. This is in a slightly different format to the others in the series, being that it is smaller in height and it is hardback, I really liked this style. The built in bookmark was also a brilliant idea.

This has an entry for each day of the year and can be used in any way, it gives you some quite simple things to do and even think about. There are some really lovely simple rituals and meditations. Also gives brief explanations on the Pagan Celebrations, and pretty much everything associated with Witchcraft. There's also information on the non-witchy celebrations like Christmas Day & St Valentines Day.

Not only do you get the 365 entries for each day, kate also explains a little about what Witchcraft is, so also excellent to use for the beginner but, I would suggest to use the Real Witches Handbook as well if your new to this path.

A truly wonderful book from one of the best Pagan authors.

I don't have too many 'Witchy' type books as I prefer to do things the way I like to and my family tradition dictates, and I find most books spend a lot of time telling you what you 'should' do rather than explaining things and allowing you to make your own decisions.

I had Kate West's a real witches kitchen, and liked her style and thought this might be a nice addition to my collection.

I was pleasantly surprised, the book is informative, holds both the new and old dates for Sabbats (Very unusual) and loads of great information.
The Ribbon bookmark is a nice touch too.
This is a great book for anyone new to the craft or for old hands. It makes you think, and I guess that is the whole point :)

This book has found it's way to my bedside cabinet and I'm reading the relevant page each day.
It helps to remind you, no matter how technological and stressful your day is, Witchcraft is still all around you.

This book is a bit of a departure for Kate West, instead of there being a continuous narrative, this book is divided into 366 snippets, one for each day of the year (including leap years). It is crammed full of useful ideas for any aspect of the Craft you could imagine, albeit in only brief details, but this book should give any practising Witch plenty of ideas to conjure with, regardless of their particular path. Each entry includes a one line 'Thought for the day' which are often pithy, quite often profound and sometimes hillarious. This is a most welcome addition to my Magical Bookshelf! Well done Kate West!
