I brought this in addition to the 2011 Good Beer Guide thinking it may give some alternative locations to sample some good beers. However on checking entries in both the city I currently live in and my home town I found it included a number of pubs that had either closed or stopped serving real ales 2 to 3 years ago. A recent tour of 10 tens with a group of Americans seemed to confirm that these where not one off mistakes.
I know that the Pub trade is in continual change and decline and it is therefore hard to ensure the accuracy of any of these guide books. However I believe including a pub that closed in 2008 in a 2011 guide is unforgivable. I have never encountered this sort of error from the Good Beer Guide.
I will not be purchasing this guide again.

Very good book well laid out and can find real ale pubs close to home or when your out and about. Have found it to be of use on holiday last week

Also bought this for my husband for Xmas - a great read with brilliant real ale pubs. If you are into real ale, this guide is better than the Camra Good Pub Guide, as it's specifically for real ale pubs. It now comes with us whenever we visit a different part of the country!
