Product Description

Who are we?

Why are we here?

Is there a god?

The world we currently live in is characterised by its conflicting cultures with their diverse political, social and religious views. Add to this the growing climatic problems and the increasing gap between those who have and those who have not and this world seems a very unstable place. The majority of us not only feel powerless to prevent this, but also find it hard to accept some of the reasons we are given to explain this pain and suffering. Religions, spiritualism, politics and science have all provided competing explanations but have not provided any real proof. Furthermore, the world as we currently know it is a result of those competing explanations. We are all citizens of this world and as such have a vested interest in its future. We all have questions about why we are here and we are all entitled to the answers.

There is something in this book for everybody, from those who are not satisfied with the way the world is and think there has to be a better way, to those who just wish to know why we are really here.

More About the Author

I love writing and love history so I suppose it's not so surprising that I write historical books! I enjoy writing both military history and historical fiction and the idea is to give the author royalties of any military history titles to military charities whilst proceeds from the fiction will go to me to help fund the research into both - at least that's the theory!

My military history books are all published by Pen & Sword and the first one came out in August 2013. Herbert Columbine VC is the story of an Essex VC winner from World War 1 and all author proceeds go to the Columbine Statue Fund.

My next book came out in November 2013. 'A Battle Too Far - The true story of Rifleman Henry Taylor (no relation!) 6923581, late 7th Battalion The Rifle Brigade (1st Battalion London Rifle Brigade). Henry wrote a large portion of this himself so royalties are shared between myself and his son. My share of the royalties to Care For Casualties (The Rifles Benevolent Trust)

Next up is 'Military Detention Colchester from 1947 - Voices from the Glasshouse' which will be published by Pen & Sword in June 2014. Author royalties shared between The Soldier's Charity (ABF) and the MPSC Association.

This is followed in July by the full story of my father-in-law, Ted Taylor, Rifle Brigade, who fought at Calais in May 1940 and then spent 5 harrowing years in POW camps in Eastern Poland. This is called 'Surviving the Nazi Onslaught - From the Defence of Calais to The Death March For Freedom. Author royalties to Care For Casualties (Rifles Benevolent Trust).

'Bellewaarde June 1915' will be out in August 2014 with author royalties to a memorial to the fallen.

My historical fiction books are - 'Lives Apart: A World War 2 Chronicle' which is based on the story of my in laws during WW2, and is in 8 volumes. It is published by GWL Publishing and the first volume '6 Days in May' will be published in June 2014.I have also written a stand alone novel 'A Second In Time'.

I live in on the Essex coast with my husband and work at the Military Corrective Training Centre (MCTC)in Colchester. I have quite wide ranging interests and together with my husband David I have also written two spiritual books, The Re-Enlightenment and Holiday from Hell.

For more information about my books please visit or you can find me on Facebook or Twitter. I also have a blog when I have time and can think of anything to put on it lol,
