Product Description

After the inexplicable disappearance of Lilly Taylor's parents, she has no choice but to move to Canada where she unravels some frightening yet intriguing family secrets... Her whole life had been based on a lie. Lilly had grown up in a loveless home with a father who she had barely ever seen and a mother who was... well, not very motherly. After they mysteriously disappear without a trace, Lilly is sent to Canada where she finds a whole new way of life. A life filled with love and people who care for her. But that's not all she discovers, Lilly also finds out that she isn't who, or what, she thinks she is. Lilly has a very special ability and it's just a matter of time before her true self starts to shine. And when it does, her life will never be the same again. Raven is a fantasy novel for children and young adults set in the beautiful province of British Columbia.

About the Author

Suzy Turner is a Yorkshire lass who moved to Portugal when she was ten. Although she continues to live in south western Europe with her husband, a fondness for travel led her to Canada for the first time in 2009. It was there, within the spectacular surroundings of British Columbia, that she was inspired to write The Raven Saga.

Different !! 25 Nov 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love urban fantasy but usually avoid YA books, I guess I think I'm a bit old to be reading about teenagers and identifying with them, I think after reading this I need to think again!I downloaded this book because although the main character is a teenager, it sounded good and it was free, so I thought I'd give it a go.I absolutely loved it, the characers including the main one were great and I loved the story, so much so that after reading the free first chapter at the end of the book, I've already bought the second book in the series, I would have bought it even without reading the free chapter because I want to carry on with this adventure, I don't see how you can go wrong with this, its a great read and I definately recommend it.

Great YA novel!! 29 Aug 2011
By Bille
Format:Kindle Edition
Raven is the first installment of the YA Raven Saga by Suzy Turner.

Lily Taylor is a thirteen year old girl which lives a loveless and isolated life with her parents in London. She hardly sees her father and is not treated very motherly by her mother. One day when she comes home after school she discovers that her parents have inexplicably disappeared without a trace. With no other relatives left she has no choice but to move to Canada to live with her grandfather, whom she has never met. There she finds a life where people love her and care for her. Soon she discovers, that there are family secrets and that she herself might have a very special talent that will change her life forever.

I really enjoyed Raven. It's a new take on paranormal YA stories with many twists and turns that I did not anticipate.
I felt that the story was refreshingly different from the usual YA novels.
It took me a bit to get into the story (which was basically the first chapter where Lili lives still in England).
After that the story is really compelling and besides werecats, witches, etc. you can enjoy a rather sweet romance.
The book is a quick read and I felt it is more suitable for younger teens.
It's a great book which leaves you with a bit of a cliffhanger. But, you know, that makes it interesting, doesn't it?
I will definitely get the sequel 'December Moon' as soon as it is available.

One word: Amazing 31 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I want to start by saying how epic this book was! Im a teenager (I'm using my mums account) and I felt this is (almost, it's definitely in the top 3)the best book I've read. It has great characters, a great storyline and its written by a wonderful author. This is the first book she has written and I hope she writes many more. It's difficult to find an book that appeals to many people but this is one does, as from the reviews i think people who like twilight like this book, I don't like twilight but I still enjoy this book, so it appeals to many people and I'm gonna recommend it to my friends. It's a wonderful book and I don't often write book reviews but I just had to for this book to make sure people don't miss out on this beautifully written book.

I don't know how this is getting so many great reviews...
This will be my last review of a self published work for a while. After so many disappointing reads from SP authors over the last weeks, Raven was the last straw. Read more
